What sub are you referring to as garbage? I don't see a sub listed in the op
I bought them in August and haven't seen in come close to this since. I paired them with a receiver I got from a deal on here too. I have a lot of learning to do regarding placement and tuning, but I really like the speakers.
I also got the atmos enabled add-ons for the front recently and am not as impressed. They do bounce the sound off the ceiling, but it sounds kind of flat to me and I've not found a ton of content that makes use of atmos. For that reason, I'd go with in-ceiling speakers or nothing since it didn't really add much to the experience. They also don't fit the tower speakers, so they look weird.

Nice price for a good sounding set of speakers. I have this setup 5.1 in my gaming room and they sound great. Don't do any critical listening on them though.
I had paid 150 for two SP-FS52's from Fry's on July 4th sale and it took several months before they shipped. Wish this deal had been available then.. I would have figured out what to do with the extra center channel and bookshelves

Jumped on this. Thanks for posting. Walmart has a Polk set on sale with 2 t50 2 t15 and a t30 that I nearly bought for $268. I think this will be a better set for my basement I'm finishing on a budget
I've had this exact setup for more than two years. Ask me anything.
My notes:
- Subwoofer though good in sound character, is not loud enough. I recommend replacing the sub with something of higher quality and size whenever you can. I personally went with SVS SB12-NSD and I'm not looking back.
- The center speaker is crap. Try to replace it with something better as soon as possible. I do not watch movies (so no need for clear dialogue), only listen to music, so I've let the center speaker stay for now.

I've heard the same about the center. Does anyone know of a good center to pair with the floor standing towers? I got a pair of those cheap and I was going to use them in my basement/exercise room, but it will mostly be for TV so dialogue is important.

I've got this same setup mated to a Denon AVR-X1400H receiver and Monolith10" sub and LOVE it ! I recently got the atmos add-ons and can't really tell the difference. As long as you run the calibration setup correctly, and set the center speaker crossover to 100 hz....you should be fine.

I added this polk audio 10 inch subwoofer [amazon.com] (which is now $10 cheaper) and love it. It took the sound and feel to the next level.

I know the price is different and there is no subwoofer here, but in terms of sound and bang for your buck? This would be for a bedroom.
