I had an interesting meeting today where I got to go to our facilitiy where our vehicles and our competitor vehicles are torn down and evaluated. I must say that I was impressed with the information presented which among other things included hands on parts comparison where we could see for ourselves how our quality and parts were better than those of the competition. There were 3 year studies on the true cost of ownership, independant studies on quality and so on, and some truely amazing demos of new options for our vehicles. It was really nice to see how we are beating the image that some people have about us and our competition. One interesting display showed how, part for part, our interiors are best-in-class/world in almost all areas and where we are not best in the world, we are in the top grouping of manufacturers.

I know. I know. Preaching to the choir. Except that I went in with a open mind as was converted from employee supporting my company to spirited ambassidor/salesman for our family of vehicles. I was moved and encouraged for the future of the company. We do have our best line up of vehicles ever, we are as good as or better than the best of our competition including the foreign makers, safety has never been better, innovation is everywhere, we are not making cheap parts and often they are far superior, while cost is important to the bottom line, we're not making cost decisions that threaten quality. I was impressed. I'm hoping that I survive the coming cuts so that I can buy a new vehicle.

I'm proud to work here.
