I checked my order status and it says it's backordered with no estimate on the ship date
Same for me as well. Backordered, no estimate of ship.

Even though I never did get a shipping confirmation nor a call saying there was an issue with my order, I just got a notice from UPS saying my order from this morning will be delivered TOMORROW! Given I went with the cheapest UPS Ground shipping option, I'm guessing their warehouse is somewhere near SW Ohio. 😁

Heh. I just returned the one T-Mobile "loaned" me, yesterday. Hardest part was flashing it back to TM-AC1900 firmware, but got it done. Whoever gets it; the built-in firmware update doesn't seem to work, so you're free to flash it easily to the AC68U. laugh out loud
why return it?

I ordered twice this morning. The first order, I received an "order was successfully submitted". The second order, I also got an "order was successfully submitted" but this time I got a pending charge on my credit card. neither order got an order confirmation/number. I don't think the first order will get sent out but I'm hoping the second one will.

I want another but I have FiOS and I tried one with the Ethernet direct from outside into the TMobile and it doesn't handle as fast of a speed as the FiOS router. I then have one of these hooked up as AP with Ethernet from the FiOS. Works good. Wish it handled gigabit better though
I apologize in advance for side-tracking the subject of this thread, but I noticed the topic of FiOS mentioned and had a question about that: can anyone confirm if you can utilize a used FiOS router to work with Verizon service, instead of having to rent or buy the router directly from Verizon? I've read conflicting results on the internet. Some claim Verizon will deny FiOS access to non-Verizon purchased/rented routers because they claim those specific units are 'stolen.' Can someone chime in on this? Just trying to save some money from router fees/Verizon purchase. TIA

This post is hilarious. So many tools giving false advice and misinformation on flashing. So dangerous, too funny!

I agree that the top rated post makes it sound like this is the easiest thing to do. I've flashed several of these for my house and I'd say it's on the 7 out of 10 difficulty scale. With 10 being you actually writing the code. Knowing how poorly people's reading comprehension skills are here. A lot of people will mess up the install. I've seen it over and over again in the past threads.

If you follow some video guide that holds your hand through each step, then sure it could be easy. Especially if they explain how to fix any issues that arise. If you have no understanding of networking basics, this might be a weekend project.
Well, you are doing 3 things.
1) *Downgrading the firmware to allow you to use SSH ability
2) Retrieving (using that SSH ability) & Changing the CFE - uploading your old, renaming the new.
3) Installing the CFE and firmware in one go also (using that SSH ability)

Then to aid you into not rolling back your work, you are doing the MTD5 steps. (All 9, 7 on 376.3626 ,but the last 2 must be on Firmware 384.xxxxx to work.)

Not that hard. Especially all the years of work it took to get you that 'Guide'.
Now, think of when there was no website to upload your CFE to like this video [youtu.be] (Do not do the video guide it is outdated) ~or ~ or some Google Document guide if you were on the virus Firmware that sent you back to a T-Mobile TM-AC1900.

The only hard part is if your T-Mobile router is on a locked firmware that the Guides won't work (*first of the three things). Then you have to do the Google Document.
AND you not paying attention to detail. A lot of people don't have the patients, or have distractions.
A lot of people don't want to read.

The Wiki is to help you, once you do it, you understand things in the wiki thread. Guides are to help you. Bashing guides and 'top of the thread' Wiki.. well go make your own guide for us 3Dmented
I have no control over Alex's guide to tell him to mention the last two MTD5 commands must be done on a certain firmware. In fact, I'm banned on his website.
I don't have permission to go to the Google Document guide to change or edit that guide anymore if there is an error.
I don't have control over Sploit's guide as it has a copy paste error.
I also can't get a hold of Lazymocha to tell him to mention the last two MTD5 commands must be done on a certain firmware era either.
Do you?

What do you do to help?

Last time I ordered I got the initial email me nothing else. This time I used different browser and got the 1st email and a second "Service Agreement" email with order #, we'll see what happens.
If you got an order number and a pending charge for $40 + tax on your credit card, I think you're good to go. That's my experience when I got my first one.

This time around, i got a pending charge but I'm still waiting for an order confirmation/number.

My order is also backordered. And I was the one who posted the deal here. So don't know how they process the orders , but it definitely is not first in first out.

Ordered pretty early yesterday. Only got the "Thank you for ordering from T-Mobile!" email with no order number. Doesn't look like my cc was charged either. Guessing I will be waiting for the next deal

i finally received an order number earlier this morning (3:02 am) but my order status is on "backordered", estimated to ship between 1/24 - 1/28. I placed my order yesterday at 8:13 am (pst). I guess I just have to wait now.
