Ordered one yesterday morning. The order email was in my inbox but the confirmation email was in my junk/spam folder. Confirmation was emailed 4 minutes after the order email. So check your spam/junk folder!

Heh. I just returned the one T-Mobile "loaned" me, yesterday. Hardest part was flashing it back to TM-AC1900 firmware, but got it done. Whoever gets it; the built-in firmware update doesn't seem to work, so you're free to flash it easily to the AC68U. laugh out loud
Haha, I posted the same thing a couple days ago. Mine was pretty hosed and sitting in a box for the last couple of years. I do feel sorry for whoever has to "recondition" this unit... or whoever buys it.

where are you located? I got my unit shipped from Louisville KY and it is out for delivery. This is my third AC1900 router, the 2 I have were loaned directly from TMo.

I bought one on ebay back when I failed to succeed in getting one from the tmobile website (that sucks, really bad). It has been a Great router. I didnt even bother flashing any other firmware, as out of the box, it does what I need it to, and then some. Very Nice router.
I am in this same situation as I couldn't checkout on TMobile site after trying several cards, but unfortunately, I don't see many listings on ebay.

I have at least 8 of these converted to the asus firmware. They work great and all have updated to the latest firmwares without issues after the TM hack is applied. The mesh is kind of a gimmic IMHO as setting these in AP mode with RSI thresholds wired or wireless bridged essentially accomplishes the same for me with a more stable connection and control over the APs. Despite the newest Asus firmware my mesh will always loose a mesh node or be sluggish at random nodes in a wired backhaul. I have over 50 devices connected without issues. I rely on the merlin firmware for the main router as MAC specific DNS filtering is hard to find in most devices.

Slickdealers are selling them. Just speak up.
I know a guy in Chicago wants to get rid of 2, One guy in the North West wants to get rid of one.

Mention your location.

Also, offerup com has listings for them.
With both offerup and craigs, you have no guarantee to get your cash back.
Advice, plug in the router at the location of meet-up (starbucks) to see if it has issues:
Look for signs something is out of the ordinary.
After reset NVRAM (Holding WPS while powering on, until power light flashes - then let go WPS) The router should boot up in a normal state.

Note: Current ASUS RT-AC68U firmware takes about 3 minutes to boot up and in that process the power light is solid, ~2 - 2:15 minutes, the WiFi lights come on,go off, then on (about ~15 seconds), then ~ 30 seconds the power light blinks 3 times then stays solid. ~3 minutes total for full boot up. Both power and the WiFi's lights stay solid.

Tmo's boot up faster. Nothing plugged in but the power cord, the power light should not flash after this " boot up ".
Reports of bricked routers had issues after "boot up " : power lights flash slow/fast and or router restarts in a boot loop.

You readers can check the pattern of Boot Up and report it in a comment below if you wish !

But that is what to look for on a router when buying used. Any flashing lights or weird behavior.

Would bite but bricked the last one. Lesson learned as I'm pretty tech savvy. Waste of $40
Nearly impossible to brick, you should try again. Use Asus restoration tool to restore to factory settings.

Anyone have any experience with the Tenda Nova MW6 vs. T-Mobile TM-AC1900 WiFi CellSpot Router firmware flashed into AC68U? At $40 each, I'm wondering if I should wait for the CellSpot to come back in stock and get 3. These seem to be the two top dual-band options in the $100-$125 price range. If only tri-band was cheaper... (sigh)

i finally received an order number earlier this morning (3:02 am) but my order status is on "backordered", estimated to ship between 1/24 - 1/28. I placed my order yesterday at 8:13 am (pst). I guess I just have to wait now.

My order is also backordered. And I was the one who posted the deal here. So don't know how they process the orders , but it definitely is not first in first out.
Ok. Got shipping confirmation today

I apologize in advance for side-tracking the subject of this thread, but I noticed the topic of FiOS mentioned and had a question about that: can anyone confirm if you can utilize a used FiOS router to work with Verizon service, instead of having to rent or buy the router directly from Verizon? I've read conflicting results on the internet. Some claim Verizon will deny FiOS access to non-Verizon purchased/rented routers because they claim those specific units are 'stolen.' Can someone chime in on this? Just trying to save some money from router fees/Verizon purchase. TIA
Not true. Verizon allows you to bring your own router.

If you got an order number and a pending charge for $40 + tax on your credit card, I think you're good to go. That's my experience when I got my first one.

This time around, i got a pending charge but I'm still waiting for an order confirmation/number.

I ordered on the 24th and got it the 25th and received an email on the 26th saying it was delivered and they charged my CC for it, strange. Like another poster said they must have a warehouse near SW Ohio.

I followed "bayareatechpros" steps but the following step hung for long time.

./mtd-erase -d asus

I pressed ctrl+c and proceededed with next steps.

Also ,I applied latest firmware from Asus's website, "RT-AC68U_3.0.0.4_384_45149-g467037b" and all works fine if it helps anyone here.
