I just noticed you could not use the 20% off on welding stuff but it scanned anyways when I checked out.. but then again it was 15 min before closing and I'm sure they did not care..
I purchased my lid with the 20% off and they didnt care.

Speaking of welding, are thier welders any good ? I know they arent going to be top of the line. But I do some exhaust work and some other minnor stuff here and there.
Hate bothering my buddies all the time and I dont have money for a name brand machine.

any one have a harbor freight welder? arc welder ?
is it any good?

I know a guy with the plasma cutter and he loves it.

well right now the 90 amp one the lowest setting I think is like 60 amps which is still pretty much too much.. I mean it's doable but it's very easy to burn a hole right through the metal.

A MIg with like 10 amps for low would be better.. Also when doing a butt weld it's better not to leave a gap or if you do all it's going to do is make a huge mess and large hole.

I got to try on some scrap exhaust I had in the basement for 2 years.

Are the HF creepers any good? I see others locally around the same price as the HF one.
I have the metal one with the pad. It is all right. I bought it years ago and thought I paid too much, but then again, I probably didn't use a coupon at that time.

Sorry here is my scan thanks to Canon who wont support Windows 7 so I have to go out and buy a whole new scanner...
Thx for the coupon, but I thought u had a 25% off from rolling stone? I had the same issue with my canoscan lide, I found a driver that worked somehow though, fyi... so don't toss that scanner just yet!

sorry I must of got the coupon confused with the one from yesterday but yeah I have a Canon lide 30 I don't want to get rid of it but very frustrating that they wont support it under Windows 7.. I don't care if I don't need the canon software I just want the scanner to work..

I have the 25 but I think it's probably the same. I'll look at what software I have installed and send you a link to it or something. It took me forever to get it to work so I'd be happy to save you the time.

Anyone know where I can get a 5-gallon bucket of mineral spirits for the parts washer? I can get gallons at home depot but thought I'd try to save a few by going bulk.

I'm checking on the same thing right now. At about $10 a gallon, mineral spirits is not exactly cheap. You can look around for the Blaster brand parts solvent in 5 gallon pails and that on average costs around $55. I called Safety Kleen today and they will come to my house and fill the washer for about $125 and change it out every 6 months for the same price. They will go longer than that but the rep said that they don't like doing that. You may want to check around with your regional smaller washer supply houses for longer duration in between service or better prices.

Edit: The Safety Kleen rep said that the cheap-o washers take about 12 gallons to fill it to the bottom of the platform.

Edit #2: I was at Menards today and they sell a 5 gallon pail of Zecol brand mineral spirits (labeled as parts solvent) for around $41. It's located in the automotive section. I am going to pick up two buckets of it this weekend and give it a try.

ok, so I can tell you that I have the "twain" driver installed. There appears to be a 7 x64 driver for the 25 but not the 30 here: http://support-sg.canon-asia.com/...0%28x64%29

I would try installing that and then using the driver for the 30 using the "have disk" method... might have to cancel the install before the software realizes that you dont have a 25 and rolls back though. iirc, only the twain driver worked for me.... but that may have been before the 7 driver came out.
