A code (with price, item numbers and expiration) or a picture?
Either would be good. The store said they would take a code, so that should be fine, with price item numbers and expiration.

Thanks!

As a Lowes employee I can tell you, we will NEVER price match a 20% off, we'll happily match it for 10% off though. But to match any competitor coupon or give any discount that isn't a 10% off with a barcode, we need a manager or head cashier.
The one time i tried a 20% at Lowe's i was told it was only good on tools - since the cpn is for Harbor Frieght TOOLS. So i couldn't use it on a ceiling fan for example. But, as with everythign elese HF, YMMV.

I really like the looks of their $399 red tool chest...

http://www.harborfreight.com/hand...67831.html

I see it is $359 at the moment but shipping kills the deal. Does anyone know if the local shops ever sell it for $359? Or have you seen it even lower than that? I know the 20% off coupons don't work on tool chests unfortunately.

I'm torn between this tool chest and getting a set of similar ball-bearing Craftmans for about $319.

Anyone have the coupon for the $9.99 torque wrenches (your choice of size: 1/4, 3/8, 1/2)?

Thanks!

Well I looked at the first six coupons and IIRC all of them are inferior to the present sale price + a 20% off coupon (one might have been the same).
This is what has me thinking about a system that will track coupon codes, price/discount, expiration and item number(s) (if applicable), along with possibly pictures of the coupon. In addition, tracking "normal" price and some "sale" prices (at least the lowest aside from clearance/closeout).

Edit: Anyone know if HFT has a policy on such actions (or might even care)?

Here in Tucson,AZ, I have never had any issues with Lowes accepting a 20% off coupon on tools. I have got the Bosch gravity rise miter saw stand, Hitachi 7" Grinder, Bosch Table Saw, and a bunch of Kobalt tools using 20% off HF coupon. You definately need to cashier profile, and going at night near closing time is a good time since the Managers are busy doing other things and just say yes to the Cashiers.

I've been eyeing the Ingersoll-Rand 2135TiMAX and 2115TiMAX (possibly the quiet variants) for probably a year. I've recently (last 3 months) started shopping at HFT and found the 2 CP-E wrenches that are similar, 1/2" ( 68424 [harborfreight.com] ) and 3/8" ( 68425 [harborfreight.com] ). What I've noticed is that they revamped the lineup around August-September 2011 and that the best coupon for the 1/2" has been $69.99 (just before the closeout) and haven't found anything on the 3/8". "Normal" is $119.99/$89.99 while current is $89.99/$84.99. $89.99 - 20% = $71.99 which seems like my best route for the 1/2" unless there's any chance of a coupon better than $69.99.

Anyone know if they've offered coupons for these better than about current price - 20% in the past?
Quick scan today shows most auto magazines have a 1/2" earthquake coupon for $75.

The most they could do is claim copy right infringement much like the big stores did around black friday ads. When I listed HF prices in the past, I rounded up so they couldn't even call me on that {since I didn't copy a thing}.

I looked into trying to track such a thing and it is a very daunting task. Not only do you have to track current regular, sales, ITC, and coupon prices, you have to keep all the prior data and somehow link to models they've discontinued.

Small for instance, not all magazines have the same ad, but generally have many of the same items at the same coupon price. Are you going to obtain all these magazines and make sure those prices are entered?

It would be a full time job.

I was more in the idea of "Could it be worthwhile now or more worthwhile later?"

I'd be more interested in making the system, entering some data, and extracting relevant data. If I wanted more than the online ads and what I quickly find, I'd want community involvement.

On the chainsaw sharpener...I looked at it for a while, but just could not get into it. I generally handfile but still wanted something quicker. I got hipped to 2 different products, both I like pretty well.

Both are chain sharpener for a Dremel type tool. One made by dremel the other just a bit with a guard and diamond dust tip will come up on a search on Amazon. Both work very well, and no need to remove the chain. Like handfiling but quite faster for me. Both products together(not nessary to have both) will set you back under $15

So it seems Home Depot is more likely to match
Both Lowes and Home Depot will pm the 20% coupons - sometimes. It just depends on the store, the clerk, and the manager.
