It is mostly for power tools. You have to admit that HF stuff is cheap and for tools that are more complex I would prefer to have name brand stuff. Most of my hand tools are HF but I wouldn't buy a HF drill. The jacks looks pretty decent and there isn't much that can go wrong with them which is why I think I will pick one up.
I thought that way too about the power tools until I bought the multi tool, cordless one first when it was on sale for $20, I was so impressed that I bought the corded one too for $20. They have since paid for themselves in the time they have saved me, if you're going to scrape anything get one, your wrist and putty knife will thank you!

Hmmmm maybe I will take a look at that tomorrow, about to remove a bunch of foam from inside a boat hull and that sounds handy for $20.

I have a bunch of HFT power tools and by and large they have been fine--reciprocating saw, orbital sander, multifunction tool, a belt sander, a cordless drill.. others I'm sure.

Most of them are just HFT branded generics that are sold under dozens of different brand names.

Looks like no-one has posted a tape measure Q in awhile.

Here's one but it requires $10 min purchase.

But I have one from a Sunday newspaper that is with "any" purchase.

Oh wait, duh, there is a legit printable from HF for May for the tape measure: http://www.harborfreight.com/digitalsavings.html

If you go through the thread you'll discover there are Qs for flashlight, tape measure, volt meter, screwdrivers (2 kinds), and sometime a tarp or rope

The problem is HF has now restricted to one free Q per visit - and many times they require $10 min purchase. Up to last year it was typically no purchase required and you could sometimes get more than one free thing.

thanks yeah i think im all set Smilie found all kinds of crapola. the one HF in lakewood only allows 1 coupon per person. The rolling tool cart for $100 is worth it and can you stack a 20% off that or is that wishful thinking?.

20% offs cannot be used on tool carts, chests, service carts or anything along those lines.

The carts used to be a loophole on the 20% Q, they were not mentioned previously.

They caught onto that this year.

I see slickdeals finally fixed their redirect issue. Anyone using script monkey can shut it off - at least for the time being until someone else breaks it.

Don't agree at all - in heavy, daily pro usage, HF hammer drills for example hold up better than "name brands" like Makita. We replaced the Makitas roughly once per year, switched to HF about five years ago, haven't had to replace one since.

HF power tools are inexpensive but not "cheap". Funny that people pay many times more to buy cheap power tools (e.g. DeWalt) that won't hold up, while putting down comparable or better brands like HF.

I have the same thinking as you. I would never buy hand tools from HF except for torque wrenches. As for everything else such as sockets, pliers, screwdrivers, etc, I would prefer name brand. The reason is that they have higher tolerance and fit the screw/nuts better so you have less chance of stripping them.

I haven't had an HF power tool (air or electric) fail yet. I did have a Cumins Tools 4" angle grinder bellowing smoke on it's last use.
