I can verify that the free multi-meter without purchase doesn't work...... Well at least not for me. :-(

Went to HF and it was a "no go". Pretty much everything was out of stock. Now that I think about it I didn't see any employees, any shelves, any stock, anything.

This is all I saw.........

Maybe I should call ahead next time....... But what is the phone number?????Wink

OK will be the sucker for this. I plan on going and getting that metal cutting band saw today. Thanks to DD. I will print that free Q for MM and see of I can get it without PURCHASE. If not I have, like 7 or 8 other Q's of freebies, I can use. If you have seen my recent videos, those LED"s come in real handy. My goal is to get a million of those.Big Grin

Will keep you postedwave

I did have success (sort of) with the free multimeter coupon. I was exchanging one of the 170 wire feed welders with a cashier that didn't understand I already had a return authorization number. She found me on the computer, realized I was beyond the 90 day return period and finally understood I had already made the call and had the return authorize number ready for her.

She printed out an exchange receipt for me to sign, set it right on top of the freebie coupon and told me I was too late to use it. She ended up calling the manager, who told her to give me the free meter.

Despite it says no purchase required, she insisted I needed to give it to her first thing in the transaction to ring up before I could have the free product.

I ended up leaving with my replacement welder and a free multimeter, at the Lacey Washington store.

I got my HF fix big time. Got everything I needed and then some. I did test the free no purchase MM and it worked. I documented the whole thing and will upload to youtube for you all to see. It's loading right now!!!

Keep you posted.

I will... with a fork. http://www.septentrion.qc.ca/dean...gorton.jpg

I kept wondering why I had this almost subconscious urge to link the two.

I saw a lady just the other day, in front of me in line, use a coupon (original) and get a tape measure with no purchase. There's definitely a coupon out there for that too, at least in my neck of the woods.

is it really that difficult to buy something to get something?

I mean heck we have a wiki full of $1 or less items. Plus you can always return it if you are that big of a tightass.

We are on a forum about coupons, on a website about slickdeals, and we all shop at HF. Would you expect anything less than what you have seen here? I just spent over $200 when I went to HF. Trust me, it was not for the free no purchase MM. It's about the hunt. Getting that deal, finding those Q's, and taking in that fix. Plus I just got myself a metal cutting band saw!!!

Really, I have like, 7 of the MM now. I just use one check my batteries if they are good or not. BTW while I was there, also got 3 more of those LED flashlights (free). Comes in real handy when doing my videos. Bought 3 other items. I probably spend over $500 a month at HF. It's that cheap. And this is so much fun.

Man I would have stuck to my guns on that 20% off if I were you! You know if you're ever in doubt you can put the code in on the website, then print it showing the discount was applied and show it to your local store and hopefully get the deal. Heck, if you have a smartphone you could just hold up the line (unless I'm behind you please) and take the time to do it on your phone then show it to the Manager!
Yeah, too little, too late for that now. I simply wasn't prepared nor expecting to be shot-down (I was mentally shopping @ HFT, not BB), Smilie as I was in the store the day before contemplating the purchase. One of their cashiers said it should come off "no problem", so I simply went in as an albeit exhausted, happy camper.

Before that day, I used to jokingly refer to HFT as "my church" w/my wife, as I would usually prepare myself for a Sunday visit, looking thru their flyers, on here 4 coupons, etc. After that, I kinda just stopped.

As for the wooden workbench, a friend of mine, told me I'd be better off building one in my spare time. He thought it's work surface slab was a bit on the thin side, and that I should have no problem building a better one w/a full inch thick slab for roughly half the cost. So, unless I get around to doing so b4 next BF, I might just be back over to HFT (prepared this time) to take that wooden workbench home - hopefully for less.

P.S. - I'll have a scan of the backside of that flyer-insert up in a few. If anyone would care to stitch them together, that would be great. My Mac is down ATM and I never tried doing such things on a PC.

That's one sorry site. Unfortunately, you can expect to see more closings of OM/OD in the near future. Staples will kill them off eventually; their management are just too slick and seem to enjoy "playing dirty" at times. Hell, I have fun just watching/scoring on the fallout. bounce

I believe I used that one more than once myself. Have about 1/2 dozen of those tape measures so far. Just enough, I'd say to keep one everywhere I might need to use one. Smilie

I think it is nice to go in and buy something, use a lesser coupon for that, and then AFTER you are done w/those purchases and their freebies, whip out a few of these "no purchase required" coupons and double-down on your freebie acquisitions. I mean it is great always being able to find a flashlight or tape measure when you need one, no? Also nice to have some extras to give away to friends, family, etc. nod

I'm not a builder by any means, but I made my own work bench with 2x4's and 1 sheet of 1/2" OSB all that I got for free. I cut the OSB and doubled it so that I have a 1" thick bench. It will hold the weight of anything! I would never buy a pre-fab workbench. If you make your own you can have the size that you want!
