This high velocity utility fan features a multi-purpose, pivoting blower; ideal for moving air in garages, workshops, work sites, and floor/carpet drying. Easy carry handle w/ circuit breaker and reset button. Offer valid while promotion last - Discombobulated
This isn't really designed for cooling specifically. It's more of garage/work shop application in which you need large volumes of air moved such as for exhaust, drying paint or water, etc.
This will work at a certain level of course but not in a very liveable way. The fan is going to be very loud in doors, vibrate a lot, need to be constantly moved as it's got to be pointed directly at you, not exactly energy efficient and would likely flip a breaker, unless you know for sure what your outlet is set for and if it's daisy chained
How what you need differs in it's ability to circulate large volumes of air rather than quickly accelerating volumes of air.. OK not the best explanation...
So since I can't explain it well enough, I'll simply make you a suggestion.
Vornados are some of the best fans and heaters I've ever used. I only came to know the brand a year or 2 ago only because it was on sale at CostCo ~$50 with a MSRP of nearly $150.
This MSRP caught my eye and I was pretty dubious about it, thinking since it's at Dyson fan price level, that it would be more style than substance.
It's been a long time since I've been genuinely impressed by a brand that I had low expectations for but Vornado succeeded in every way. Quietest fan I've ever used, extremely stable and for a fan, relatively good looking in it's minimalism.
Up to this point, I've always bought fans on what was cheapest because, up to that point in time, living in a hot, humid area, even though they were a big part of life, they all pretty much were the same.
The MSRP is silly though and they do make fans that the price tag is more about their vintage looks than performance but these are easy to spot and still excellent quality. Every other fan that lasted long enough that a simple cleaning was enough to get it running again, took over an hour with 20 screws and fiddly tabs etc etc usually not worth it.
With the Vornado, it was 4 METAL tabs (that's right, actual metal so no breaking)and the grill was off... Easy Maintenance alone is a selling point in my book as they are made to last with a warranty to match.
Again, they are pricey but sales are not hard to find under $60.
I can't give you direct links because it will seem like I'm trying to sell one or help a vendor.
Good luck and good on you for working it out. It's a commitment but well worth it once you find your rhythm.
I personally own this fan. Bought from sams club on clearance for $30 a few years ago. It is a very powerful fan but it is also quite loud, even on the lowest settings.

Good deal, looking like $69 or more from most places besides eBay. Free shipping and I've had good experiences with BuyDig in the past. Reviews show the plastic can be fragile so don't go throwing it around.

Is this the same as the one sold at Sam's, I thought these are a little less powerful ones.

How audible would it be on high in a home gym but with music on relatively loud volume?

Its perfect for a home gym / garage if you have earphones on you cant hear it . I have two of them. My smaller model is going on 3 years they take a beating too .

I will agree that this blower is not easy to clean. In fact it is pretty difficult to even get to the fins and clean them out. With that being said the wattage on this fan is just like every other fan. The max speed draws 100W. In comparison, my hp laser printer draws 800W and my microwave is 1600W. It's a pretty efficient machine, the circulation is quite good but as you said it is kinda noisy. I would still prefer this over the varna do just because of the squirrel cage design that a lot of other fans don't even have
