This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Haven't posted here in a while, as my three little ones take lots of time, and putting together runs takes all my time (probably way more than it should, too! Big Grin), but got some very sad news yesterday and have to post it here to help get it off my chest.

A sweet friend passed away very unexpectedly yesterday from breast cancer. After several years of various treatments, she had been given 3-6 months to live, but went downhill very, very rapidly. She was so young and leaves behind 4 sons, the oldest of whom is just now a teenager. I know she's in Heaven with Jesus so no worries there, but it absolutely breaks my heart to think of her little boys not having a mommy anymore.

Moral of the story - get your mammograms! No matter how much they hurt!

Flugette--

So sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine. My worst fear is leaving behind my son. Its like this stupid thought that haunts me!
Hopefully they have lots of friends and family to keep them going! Our thought and prayers are with you and them.

Finally scored the Old Navy Qs! Got a $75 and $50 just by chance tonight. Had given up earlier, had dinner and went shopping. Just happened to reload the page after paying some bills, and voila, they're live!
Yep - it was just random luck. It helps to be in Pacific time b/c they didn't go live again until maybe 8:00 PM here - rather late if you're on the east coast.

You guys should edit your posts. Talking about a good thing usually makes it go away faster.

Anyone need $2 listerine for WAGS next week, I have a bunch I'm not using. First to PM gets it although I may not respond until Sunday as I'm logging off in a bit

Very, very sad.. I'm so sorry for her family. I lost my mom to ovarian cancer in January. You can bet I get my mammogram and bloodwork and ultrasound of my ovaries on a regular basis. I am at high risk for estrogen fed cancers, and it's very scary to me.. Frown

I encourage everyone out there to read up on these types of cancers and know what to watch your body for. Clearly self-examination and mammogram are your best defense against breast cancer. Ovarian cancer is called a "silent killer" because it has very little symptoms and you have to REALLY know what to look for. My mom was at Stage III out of 4 stages when they figured out what was going on with her. And oftentimes the symptoms can be very generic, so you might not think anything is wrong.. go here for more info. Click under Medical down the left side of the page for symptoms.

http://www.ovarian.org/?utm_sourc...nformation

And that's my Public Service Announcement for the day, 'cause I heart Target SDers and want them to stay well and fit. Smilie

(And P.S. If you've never had a mammogram, it isn't as bad as you think. Smilie )

I simply cannot believe the people whose join date is march 2009, no posts to speak of and they are begging for these coupons. What does that say for people? We are doomed.
I have just never seen anything like that. Begging and sob stories.. it was just unbelievable. EEK! It seems to bring out the worst in people. I actually caught a 75 off 100, but it wouldn't load for me and I lost it. Which was vaguely annoying, but I got over it. laugh out loud

There are too many important things in life to weep over a coupon.. and I wanted to tell those people that. But I was afraid I'd get beat up!! EEK! Of course everyone wants to get one if they can, but if you can't - ya got to move forward, you know..?

I went in to use a 10/50 yesterday and couldn't believe how expensive some of the clothing items were for kids. $15 for a pair of cargo shorts for a kid that will outgrow them in 60 days is not a deal. At 50% off they are 7.50. Targets are on sale for $4-$8.99 depending on the style.

Don't get me wrong, if I got a $75 one I would have jumped for joy and gotten a lot of clothes (love their clearance) but its a FREAKIN coupon!! Deal with it and move on! The sob stories about single mom and X # of kids, get real! I couldnt take it anymore. I figure next week I will just click all over and hope to find it, cant read that thread anymore

I totally agree with what everyone has said about the whole ON thing. I tried last night and didn't get one to print or load. It's a contest and you win some you lose some. I found the 75 when it came live again late but it wouldn't load - I just kept staring at the 75 and wishing it to load laugh out loud . That thread was wacky! shake head

On a more important note, thanks for all the great reminders on women's health heart Breast cancer runs in my family so I get squished, poked, and prodded anytime my doctor wants me to laugh out loud I was surprised that the last couple of mammograms I had did not hurt AT ALL. Smilie

dang! missed all the fun again! did they remove all the begging and pleading this time around? the cymbals thing was nothing compared to last wk. was it anything like this one from last wk? starts here-
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=17710437&postcount=2826

thread got retired in the middle of a slanging match w/ *asdn* and continues here-
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=17711939&postcount=6

and the really sad part is? the ubiquitous clothing company i used to work for owns old navy which they came up w/ after my time. probably the reason the site works so bad is b/c it's probably done in-house and they just don't have the resources and know-how to adapt to the incredible demand. my bff who worked in e-commerce at another company would know.

i just don't like to put out the name b/c working as an asst mgr there is a commonly the butt of jokes. yes, i went to a comedy club one time w/ a bunch of friends and the comedian made a joke about asst mgrs at the gap so all my friends were pointing at me! (for you tootsie67 Wink ) or people just don't understand how hard you worked there and the pressure you were under. only other mgrs at the gap in my region ever understand what it was like. everybody thinks, you just fold clothes, how hard can that be?

one time an asst mgr at a store i had previously worked at for the store opening was shot dead in the office during a robbery and my district mgr made me go over there 3 days after to do an operations audit to check to see if anything was the fault of the company. that i spent most of the day in that office was bad enough going thru paperwork. that i was only supposed to go over there and just do the audit and nothing else and ended up having to take charge and get the store open for business and not get a single thank you from anybody, tiny bonus, GC or anything at all, not even a lousy t-shirt, speaks volumes about their attitude and the way they treated their employees. just got attitude from the gapkids district mgr which was attached but separate store. hope she had to write the 500 word essay why she should keep her job when they merged the 2 divisions.

that was one of the worst ones, but i can tell you many, many stories that you just can't believe.
