I could easily make it with the spouses 60k but we put money away for retirement. Taxes withheld are 10k, insurance and retirement take another huge chunk. Being self employed may cost me from account bonuses that require DD but allows me the bonuses with large deposits.
This is a good deal if it can be maintained. I was only supporting the first poster that said it was difficult for some people.
I dislike that some banks are now requiring specific DD amounts to maintain fee-free accounts. Before I was married, that would have been very difficult. Luckily I have large account balances so that keeps me fee free.
lower income people are unbanked en masse
14 million adults were unbanked in 2017

I guess the difference then is how to define lower income. I understand those that make less than 20-25k could be unbanked. But that income group wouldn't even be able to do 1500 month in DD.
Scary stat though that 14 million adults are unbanked. The scarier one is that 49% of adults couldn't afford a $400 emergency.
Now, do I need to wait for the account number and details coming in the mail or there is a way to register online and pull account details to start the DD?

Does this mean $3000 each month for 3 months or can I just do $3000 the first month to meet the requirement?
