This is a FYI for people who are interested in a CHEAP ($20 per month)Unlimited Plan through AT&T. The UConnect plan via the ZTE Mobley is back for a limited time. Currently, AT&T is sold out of the device (and its not certain if they will getting them back in stock). but you can still get the plan if you can come up with the ZTE Mobley device. You can still find a handful of the devices on eBay currently. The cool thing about the device is that people have figured out how to create adapters so the device can run off a wall outlet.

Per the wonderful website, RVmobileinternet.com you need to call a special ATT number to get the deal as it a special promotion. Below are the two numbers they listed on the website:

Primary Phone Number: 855-894-9945

Secondary Phone Number: 866-662-4548

HERE ARE LINKS TO THE RVMOBILEINTERNET SITE WHERE THEY DISCUSS WHAT THE MOBLEY IS AND HOW TO GET THIS DEAL:

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/...-of-stock/

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/...-campaign/

You can read about the device on several active forums too. Howard Forums is probably one of the best!

I have 2 Mobley lines. One I use at home it uses 500 to 800 GB of data. The other one I use at work and use 30 to 40 GB of data. Both Sims are in Hotspots
don't they throttle you back after 22GB or somewhere in that range?

No, not throttled but you can be deprioritized. Most people report no change after the 22 gigs but some see very transitory decrease. No way for certain to know if that is due to deprioritization.

It's highly dependent on where you use it as to what sort of speeds you will get. The unit itself (or a hotspot replacement) can be very sensitive to not only just a matter of a couple feet but even the orientation.

If you have a Mobley device, can you move your sim to a hotspot and then call to activate on the old Mobley?

I was using to a Mobley for nearly a year. The power adapters are expensive for what they are and after mine broke I decided to just get a new hotspot. I swapped the SIM into this

NETGEAR Nighthawk Mobile Hotspot Router (Mr1110) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G5KW...GCbHJCVEFA

No issues from ATT and speeds increased. Has battery built in so easy to transport and then use a USB-C plug and adapter to charge up.
So are you using a regular SIM or something special? Most devices are sold without SIM card.

This isn't clear. I saw lots of people on the Howard Forums suggesting buying a new Mobley, switching the SIM and then keeping ithe Mobley around, just in case.

No the tower are not congested. They only throttle you if the tower is getting hammered

Yes I believe up to $1000 to take over an account for a while. And for a short time, Mobley devices were selling for $400-$500. I haven't paid attention to this plan since it ended. But if it's back on for Mobley units, a new unused (w/unactivated SIM) one will probably skyrocket in price soon. If it's the only way to get the plan. I must say, the plan is one hell of a deal and doesn't seem to throttle at all for me. And with DirecTVNOW, it stays HD for hundreds of miles on end while on the road.

I think your prophesy is coming true... i see the cheaper new units from eBay were quickly gobbled up over the last few hours. Glad I already got mine!

I haven't seen any new unopened with SIM still in box unactivated on Ebay. Not sure it's needed or not. Been so long since this started, no one probably has any left. Highest current one on Ebay is $319 brand new but no SIM card included.

I got one coming without the SIM which is what people on Howard Forums were saying works. Ill be calling that special promotion phone number on Monday and will report back with my results.

Also, it looks like someone listed one with the Unlimited Plan for 800 bucks.

Pretty sure Its not needed, you can easily generate a valid IMEI. Thats all they will ask for when you call the car connected dept. Then they send a SIM card.

At least, this is how it was in 2017. All you are getting from the device is the IMEI to give the car connected dept. Think about it.

No one to date has been kicked off the mobely plan, be it generated IMEI, excessive data or using the SIM in another hotspot so its been proven this is good a method. All this came about in 2017, so it can not be refuted.

In fact, if you use a mobley at first, it will now lock the SIM to it. And youll need to do the work around in the Howardforums thread. Makes zero sense to purchase a price gouged mobely.

Using a computer to generate a fake code to create an account seems a bit shady to me... Just because people have gotten away with doing that so far doesn't mean they will continue to get away with it.... Just isn't worth the risk to me....

I'm going to go the route of buying the Mobley device new and then signing up for the Connected Car account and not worrying about it.
