This is a FYI for people who are interested in a CHEAP ($20 per month)Unlimited Plan through AT&T. The UConnect plan via the ZTE Mobley is back for a limited time. Currently, AT&T is sold out of the device (and its not certain if they will getting them back in stock). but you can still get the plan if you can come up with the ZTE Mobley device. You can still find a handful of the devices on eBay currently. The cool thing about the device is that people have figured out how to create adapters so the device can run off a wall outlet.

Per the wonderful website, RVmobileinternet.com you need to call a special ATT number to get the deal as it a special promotion. Below are the two numbers they listed on the website:

Primary Phone Number: 855-894-9945

Secondary Phone Number: 866-662-4548

HERE ARE LINKS TO THE RVMOBILEINTERNET SITE WHERE THEY DISCUSS WHAT THE MOBLEY IS AND HOW TO GET THIS DEAL:

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/...-of-stock/

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/...-campaign/

You can read about the device on several active forums too. Howard Forums is probably one of the best!

What is everyone getting for speeds? I can only get 3-5 mbps when phones are getting 20+
With a mobley attached to an external router via USB, I consistently get right around 20+mbps using fast.com (Netflix). Initially, the stream was getting throttled to a lower speed and I had to call AT&T support a couple times to get stream-saver turned off.

That's a steal for $50. But it doesn't blow out Wifi, correct? Only takes incoming cell signal and converts it to ethernet? I think you have to connect it via ethernet to a wifi router if I'm not mistaken.

Oh - so it's both a converter from cell service in to wifi out, in addition to cell in ether out? Is there a max # of clients you can connect to its wifi?

Thanks!

Grabbed a pair of mobleys ~2 years ago. Wife got one in the divorce.

Stuck the sim from mine into a netgear battery powered hotspot because range and cell reception on the mobley wasn't that great (maybe because its under the dashboard of a car...?). Pretty good with the netgear. Nice to have unlimited LTE in your pocket for $20.

Also, LOL's at the thumbs down from people afraid at&t will see the thread and end the program. Pretty sure they'd have done that by now if they were going to do it.

Interesting, the at&t web site shows the netgear device not the mobley, first time I've moved a sim into a different device and the carrier picked it up.

Also the TOS for the mobley/connected car says you aren't allowed to put the sim in a different device.

For what its worth.

No, you are allowed to put the SIM in another data/hotspot device. The TOS does not prohibit that.

In fact AT&T's ToS expressly state that moving a SIM between the same category of device (phone to phone, hotspot to hotspot, etc.) is not prohibited.

Its too early in the morning for me to bother re-reading 1000 pages of legalese, what you say is true for regular phone and hot spot plans but not for the connected car plan. I read it myself. It said the sim must remain in the original connected car device and not be put into another device. There were hundreds of comments on various forums about doing it, some folks tried it and nothing bad happened.

You might be talking about the other device AT&T recently released (SPARK). That stuff was added in at that point.

For myself and many others, when we signed up in 2017, there was no such verbiage prohibiting it. We're not bound by that ToS.

Whatever you say Chief. I read it. Its in there. However for now at least at&t isn't doing anything about it and hasn't raised anyones prices or canceled anyone for doing it.

Don't know how I missed this when it first was announced. I would have totally be all over it, since I'm currently dropping $100+/mo. on a satellite-based ISP for my rural location. OTOH, maybe not. Verizon's about the only service that's viable where I am, so....

I am in a rural spot too and my buddy's ZTE Mobley device works great here!

I have a Mobley from the original promotion that I took the SIM out and used in another device. Haven't ever used the Mobley at all. Used that same IMEI to activate a second account right now. Yay team.
