If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull Smilie

Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

Can you please expand on this. Really interested to know how to get 2100/1800 out of 60k points. Thanks.

he already told you how- " It will behoove people to read up on transferring to travel partners."

Generally transfers to Hyatt for hotels, or many airlines for coach seats, will get you 2-2.5 cents per point.... airline transfers for business or first class seats can often get you 5-10 cents per point.

For example we recently paid 60,000 points roundtrip for business class tickets between Dulles and Dublin on Aer Lingus- that's a nearly $5000 ticket in cash for the dates we flew (and even on the cheapest dates is typically a $3000 or so ticket)

I have the reserve and want to sign my wife up for this. Can she transfer points to my card once she gets them?
I called and asked about this. The only way she can transfer points to your Reserve card is if she also had a Reserve card. The other way also applies in that you cannot transfer points to her Preferred card if you do not have a Preferred Card.

don't fail to mention that if using the Chase portal to redeem you get an extra 1.25 of value so really it is potential $750.
You forgot its $600*1.5 not 500. Making max value $900, which is slicker than $750 with waived $95 first year fee.

Can someone explain the chase reserve 300 credit back for travel? Please explain it. How does that work? The annual fee of 450 is quiet high.
With reserve the annual fee is 450 but if you spend 300 on travel/dining, the uptown 300 is deducted from the annual fee making it 150 annually. Note the upto 300 for the 300 credit does not get you any points. Past that point is when you start accumulating 3x points per dollar on dining and travel.

Also note every 4 yrs you can sign up for TSA pre or global entry with $100 credit for the processing fee. Also other many benefits such as airport lounge access, better insurance protections, etc vs sapphire preferred.

to be perfectly clear, as one sder pointed out to me, the 48 month period starts from the date you received the bonus--not from the date you closed your Sapphire card. important distinction.

how many non chase cards have you opened recently or have opened? whats your debt to income ratio? annual income? how many years credit history do you have? did you just get a mortgage or car loan?

this and many other factors weigh in on the decision. the fact that it was an instant meaning an automated denial likely alludes to a substantial factor was involved.

then again, it may have been caused by an error. so call up a chase rep.

What you were told is inaccurate. You can combine points between any UR cards if you live in the same household.

The bolded bit is meaningless. The relevant question regarding number of cards is: How many personal credit cards among all lenders have you opened in the last 24 months?

It costs them money to keep opening new accounts for people, also do you all just keep signing up for bonus and then cancel the card after getting and using the bonus? I envy people with that much time and dedication.... I just open a 2% Citi and keep using it. This card doesn't sound much better for people who keep using their cards and don't carry balance.

I've only done it once so far but was looking to open it again for the bonus. I closed after the first year because it didn't make sense for me to keep the card. But with that bonus it's definitely worth it

Is this deal applicable for Reserve too? How do you guys spend 4K in 3 months if you aren't planning to travel?

So essentially same deal as 50K with first year $95 waived.

Does everyone cancel the card before the end of the first year?
