If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull Smilie

Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

If you book a Trip for $5000
It's 2x Points = 10000 pts
+ 60,000 bonus for spending $4000
You'd have 70,000 pts ?

I know silly, lol
Thanks in Advance

Question for the pros here. I see the top comment saying that if you have saphire card already you won't get approved. Both the wife and I were gonna get this card for the points for travel. We need like 8 flights this year.

She has one card already from 5 years ago. She still won't be approved? If not any other cars that is recommended for miles or rewards?

Do Southwest cards also count towards the saphire? Or no? Because I have one of those and it's chase. Just making sure I don't waste an inquiry.

Both credit scores over 800
What do you mean she has one "from 5 years ago"? Does she STILL have it or not? If you currently hold a Sapphire card, they won't let you open a second one. You can transition the one you have to the one you want if they're different, but you cannot apply for a new one with a new bonus.

Southwest is not a Sapphire card. No co-branded Chase card is a Sapphire, it is a very specific line. There are only 3 Sapphire Cards. The Preferred, the Reserve, and the regular Sapphire card (which you cannot apply for, you can only downgrade to).

so what do we get for $95? 2 points for travel and 1 point spent for other items not very good. Costco card is free and get 4 point for gas, 3 points for travel etc. After getting the 600 bonus point do not believe I would us this card.

Costco CC travel point (3 points) are equal to 1.5 CSP points (2 points) earned per $1, no portal needed .

Just trying to future out what the $95 gets me?
You also get 2 pts for restaurants, a 25% bonus when redeeming through the Chase portal, plus you can combine points from other cards in the UR ecosystem to make THOSE points more valuable too.

I do think the CSR is a better card in general given that the bonus jumps to 50% and the travel/restaurant rewards jump to 3X. It's more expensive but also has more perks. You do ultimately have to decide what if anything the perks are worth to you. I know quite a few people that don't value them. They are all about the cash bottom line even if it makes their experiences worse, which means they quite enjoy straight cash back cards.

I think she has a freedom not a saphire, would that be different too?

I recently got the CSP thru pre-approval and added my husband as authorized user. Just received his card in the mail today and seemed like he couldn't view account activity online, bummer..didn't do that part of the homework beforehand. We have our joint accounts with chase and also individual accounts/freedom cards. We were hoping to use this card as a joint credit card (chase doesn't issue that anymore) but without viewing ability online or on app for one of us is really not the best..just wonder how do other people handle this? Thx!

No, you need to give SSN and she also needs to have excellent credit score

for people sending referral links for CSP, how are you sharing the referral bonus with the applicant?

If there is a good/safe way to share referral bonus, I would be interested in getting a referral before I apply. Thanks.

Since the points can only be shared with household members, will do it via other means.

I just got approved for the Sapphire Reserve. But have not used it yet, do you think Chase will allow me to just convert Sapphire Reserve to the Preferred? Or shall I stick with the Reserve?

Stick with reserve at least the first year. With points and travel credit you will get more than it's worth anyway. Then decide if you want to keep it.

Thanks. I don't really travel much so the perks for travel don't mean much. But I am planning on spending the $4k within the first 3 months easy. But the preferred gives me the same deal there.

So you think still stick with the reserve?
