If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull
Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

I've read that means I cant have the CSR for the first year. Is that true?
Most definitely not true. What makes you think that/what idiots are posting that bad info(so the rest of us know to ignore them)? There are communities of active military who rack up cards like the CSR/AmEx Platinum like crazy because they can get them for that sweet $0 annual fee.
If you get the Sapphire Preferred from this thread's OP, then you can't get the CSR afterward. But that has nothing to do with being military and/or a fee waiver.

That makes more sense, but is not what you claimed to have read upthread

The author is simply suggesting that you get the CSP first b/c of the higher signup bonus and then product changing to the CSR after 1 year, instead of applying for the CSR first. Not saying that you can't get the CSR first. The confusion may be the reference to the CARD act, Chase's interpretation of which = no upgrades to a card with a higher annual fee in the 1st year after approval, which applies to everybody. The only impact on you is that the serviceperson's fee waiver does not exclude you from this 'protection' - the CARD act treats you like every other American in this regard.
I disagree with the advice of getting the CSP over the CSR, but can at least understand the argument in the context of viewing the 1st year of holding the card simply from the viewpoint of maximum points acquisition over perks.
Accounts still show on credit reports for authorized users. It stays on there even when they're removed as an authorized user or the card is closed.
When you add someone as an authorized user, they're not just a user. If the cardholder misses a payment or maxes out their card, the authorized user's credit could be negatively affected.
Thank you. Do you know if any concerns of getting bonus if someone was authorized user couple of years ago and now open new card on their name?
Question: been wanting a Sapphire card for a while and I'm thinking about pulling the plug and actually sign up. Seems like many of you have really good knowledge of the Sapphire cards; so my question is: has any of these cards, CSP or CSR, ever had a 0% introductory offer? TIA

No, being an authorized user has no relation to being a primary cardholder. You can open the card, get the bonus, and add your spouse as an AU. They can also open a card soon after and get the SUB for themselves without any concern. The 48 month rule for Sapphire bonuses only applies to the account holder, not authorized users. They are treated as new/separate account holders and are eligible as long as they did not get a bonus for themselves within 48 months.

I read it here under the upgrade to CSR after 1 year section https://www.google.com/amp/s/mili...-military/
