If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull Smilie

Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

Thank you. I'll give it a shot. Worst they can say is no.
I dont believe they will say no... Just depending on the amount. Chase are sticking with $100... Amex is all over the place from $100 to points to my offer which was the highest so far.

I've only been a member since 2018 and I have the lower Preferred card so I'm curious if they'd offer anything at all.

Just tried. Rep said statement credits are going out in phases and to call back later to see if I'm eligible. I didn't want to escalate it so I'll try another time.

Did you speak to the customer retention / cancellation department?

I have the chase freedom unlimited and I like it a lot. Do you think I can upgrade to a Saphire and is it worth it? Thanks OP

You absolutely can, but doing so would cost you the ability to earn the signup bonus since only NEW cards (not product changed ones) get that.

Probably not. I called the number on the back of the card. I will try again soon.

If you have a different travel card through Chase are you still eligible for the sign up bonus? For example, I have a Southwest card that is administered through Chase. I figured this would be OK but wanted to check before I pull the trigger. Thanks in advance!

Yep. As long as it isn't another Sapphire, you are fine.

Yes. In this example yes.

Chase, in general, only allows a bonus per vertical "type" card, but if you go to a different type (brand) you can get a bonus.

For example, you have a SWA card. I assume a personal card. Well they actually offer 3 different personal cards. So if you recently got a bonus on one SWA card you can't sign up for another personal card and get the bonus (you could sign up for a business SWA card and get the bonus which is a strategy to get the companion pass).

But you can get the bonus on other personal Chase cards that are not SWA. Assuming the SWA is the only personal card, you can get the bonus on one of the Sapphires, both Freedoms, Marriott Bonvoy, etc. or any of the business cards (and sometimes multiple business cards).

Just throwing out the enteral rules, there could be exceptions, timelines, etc.

I just got denied for the Sapphire card with a good standing credit history and a 750 credit score. Has anyone else been denied recently with good credit? Are they tightening amounts of new credit issuing due to covid19 uncertainty?

What was the specific reason given for the denial? There's several possible reasons having nothing at all to do with credit score.

Thank you both very much for letting me know and for the heads-up regarding how that works. I appreciate it!

When I called a couple weeks ago, they said nothing for the preferred. Hoping someone gets an update since this is changing frequently it seems.
