Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.

If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull
Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

They also a "Pay myself back" feature that lets you redeem points for a straight statement credit (w/ a 50% bonus in points value!) towards dining, home improvement stores, grocery, etc.
you're thinking of the Chase Sapphire Reserve.. only +25% bonus redemption with this card.
As long as your last Sapphire (regardless of Preferred or Reserved) last sign up bonus was over 48 months ago. Note that they count points deposited, and not approved date. So it's safe to add 3 months to your last sapphire app to really be sure you are in the clear.
Just realize that now if you are incorrect in calculations (or invalidly rejected for the promotion, but still approved for card) then you are still on the hook for the $95 annual fee.
Just make sure you qualify as this non-waived first year fee is completely new (probably so Chase can grab cash on all those accounts that don't qualify for the promotion but still get approved).
Should be a big giant warning on the original post about this caveat.

Just FYI
You get auto-declined if you haven't waited 48 months. Chase reps told me last Sept (2019) their system has a 48 month cooldown on the family of Sapphire cards, not the bonus specifically. I was auto-declined as I was 42 months into the cooldown.
Does anyone know if there is a way to see my progress towards the $4000 I have to spend to get the bonus points. I swear I saw a progress bar before but I can't find it. I know I can just see how much I spent, but I just want to make sure it's working.

I just checked my wife's card and she doesn't have a 'bar' but there is a circle with a percentage in the middle in ultimate rewards.
Hi all, bit of a card novice here specially for chase, I spent the full 4K, what is the best return on points value, if not for travelling (as who knows when it's safe to travel again anyways).
Any cash redemption or other offers or if I can't decide is it better to transfer points to the free Chase cards (but loose out on the 1.25% from Saphire)?

You may consider Chase's Pay Yourself Back feature to redeem points at 25% (or 50% for reserve) more for statement credit on select categories, such as grocery stores, dining, and home improvement stores. https://media.chase.com/news/pay-...te-rewards
If I get this card in June 2020 and pay the $95 annual fee, will I be allowed to cancel it in May 2021, which is right before they charge the second year annual fee?

Yes, although it would be wiser to downgrade it to a freedom or other non annual fee card so your credit doesn't take a hit.
I double dipped little over a year ago. Got both the reserve and preferred and did just that, so I have 3 freedoms now 😂

Sorry, yes you are correct, 50% for Reserve, 25% for Preferred. I will edit my original response.

Thanks. I actually found what I was looking for. I could not find it on my computer, but it's in the app on my phone.
