If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull
Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

How does canceling the card make your credit take a hit? I thought your credit will improve since you now have fewer cards.
Sorry if my post was misleading, I should've said it can indirectly cause a hit.Canceling a card can effect your length of credit history and can also effect your credit utilization.
I would assume a lot of people here are getting this strictly for the signup and not keeping their csr/csp, in which case canceling after having it for a year isn't a big deal unless you have a very shallow credit history.
Utilization has a large impact on your credit score, so if you cancel and lose 5k from your overall credit line you'll have a lower threshold of available utilization before it starts to hurt your score. Downgrading can normally be done without altering your limit, depending on how many cards you carry with that bank.
I have the preferred card already. My wife is an authorized user on my account but she's never officially signed up for a chase credit card. I was wondering if she signs up, will she qualify for the bonus? Or does being an authorized user in my preferred card disqualified her. Thanks.
I am NOT renewing my CS Reserve this year (even though rep told me they will waive the $100 increase). I have had it for 4 years.
Can I sign up for the CS Preferred or the INK and still get the intro bonus? or a business card perhaps - I have 100,000 points sitting in my account

You're not eligible for a new CS Preferred. It needs to be 48 months since you got the bonus for your CS Reserve. That hasn't happened yet.
And Chase has gotten very stingy approving Ink card applications since the pandemic began. Unless you have a long standing Corp, LLC, or partnership, preferably with a Chase business checking account, assume you won't be approved for an Ink card right now.

If you just don't want to pay that annual fee, you can downgrade to the CSP. You won't get a sign up bonus, but least u would still have a card that controls those points you already have.
If you don't have already, you can get the Freedom and/or Freedom Unlimited (no annual fee) to get more points (these are actually cash back cards, but with the CSP/CSR you can transfer them to points).
If your just in a position where cash is important and no plans to travel in the foreseeable future, you can use your points to pay off CERTAIN transactions at a 1.5x rate. This is a new feature added as Chase knows many are not traveling. While 1.5x isn't idea, its actually not terrible if paying off a couple purchases IN THOSE CATEGORIES really helps you,

I just called Chase and they said it was 48 months, and I downgraded a Sapphire to Freedom in 2017. I was puzzled, and I said 48 months is 2 years. And he said oh no, he meant 24 months. But that scared me a bit. Where did you see 48 months?

Hi,
it is on the application page when you click on the link
Search for "48" on that page.

Thanks! Yes I see that, although I may have received the bonus more than 48 months ago. I didn't downgrade right away. I probably stayed on at least a year, if not 2 years, on it. So is it 48 from the time I received the bonus, or 48 from the time I downgraded to Chase Freedom?
Kinda messed up the guy insisted he meant 24 months. Seemed fishy.

48 months from when you received the bonus. Basically Sapphire application date + 4 months, to be safe.
How long do you have to keep this card active to get the benefits? Is it right after 3 months and spending $4k?
By "benefits", do you mean the bonus? If yes, people who have pre existing relationship with chase with other cards, may get the bonus in the same billing cycle. People without a previous relationship with them may have to wait up to two billing cycles after the minimum spend is met. Anecdotally, some have received the bonus sooner.
There's a way to get 25% more on credit when you go and check the purchases you already made for dining and grocery. Don't have to wait for travel and you are getting back right away on purchase you already made.
Not sure anyone mentioned this before but can't go thru all these comments.
I've come to avoid chase cards. Their customer service is atrocious. When something actually needs real customer service it's abysmal. I've spent 6 months trying to get a trip refunded and they keep stalling or asking for same papers repeatedly (trip cancellation travel insurance included on the card is supposed to be their "big benefit"). Then I had big issues with their bank and trying to just close an account.
Chase Never again. They've become too big imho. Stick to Amex or any other brand. Chase is just horrible.
Do I get the rewards points if I use this card to pay off my student loan?
If ur student loan provider takes CC, then yes. But you need to review if they charge you a fee for using a CC. And if so, does that wipe out any points you get?
And if your student loan provider doesn't take CC, is this the best CC to use?
