Sprint reached out and tells us that the link in the OP is outdated and this one https://community.sprin t.com/t5/E...-p/1033393 is the newer, corrected one.
I didn't want to edit the OP but if the OP wanted to edit to have this link.. that would be great.

Right now, I'm not aware of any killer phone deals.
The last deals that I jumped on were the Essential Phone blowout circa November 2017, and the more recent Moto Z2 Force deals. You've just got to keep your eyes open.
is good point.
i remember that on my plan, not everyone wanted to upgrade every 2 years.
in which case we were paying higher prices and not taking advantage of the perks that came with it.
so i had to force folks to upgrade, then sway back to old phone, and sell the new phone
now, in my opinion it allows for flexibility, so u can be either the person who upgrades every 2 years, or the one that likes to keep phone for more that 2 years or the person that buys last years flagship for ~200 rather than this years flagship for 800
in the end, i feel that doing away with sub phones and then lowers the MRC is good thing for consumer
I had been on SERO since about 2006 so I hadn't really paid too much attention to the cost of service when the carriers nixed the two year contacts, but I'm pretty sure most people did not see their cost of service decrease in an amount equal to the phone subsidy they were no longer receiving, if they saw any price reduction at all.
For me, I was happy to be on a contract as long as I got the subsidy since I was not planning on going anywhere anyway, and it certainly wasn't worth giving up the significantly discounted phone for the freedom to jump carriers. And even if I didn't want to upgrade phones every two years, like my wife, or if I wanted to buy an unlocked phone, I just bought an iPhone on contract and flipped it on eBay to cash in my subsidy. Took a little work, but it was certainly worth the ~$300-400.
The subsidy is what made SERO the killer deal that it was. Once they ended the subsidy, then the family plans were the best bang for your buck (other than the free plans) if you had use for that many lines of service. This SWAC plan seems really sweet though..

BTW, if you intend to use the "International Roaming" feature, you'll have to call Sprint and have that feature enabled as it's not done automatically. When I followed up after my SERO plan was converted to SWAC, requesting information on International Roaming, I was sent this information:
"For all your International needs please contact Sprint Worldwide at
888-226-7212 Option 3. They have the most up to date information on
International rates and travel."
Enabling International Roaming was simple and only took a few minutes. It's included with your plan; but, does require this extra step.

Hulu and Tidal required nothing more from Sprint; but, I believe that both required going through their websites to activate it. Sprint takes care of International Roaming, though.

Same question. Sprint already abandoned two year contracts. Now the "deals" are just leasing and / or trade-in, which do not require a specific plan.
