Update: BH Photo Video has it at $180

Not as good as the Christmas deal which had this at about $150 per pair, but best I have seen since.

Happy with my 1.0 Elacs. Very warm speakers. Paired with a Dayton 12" and they sound great.

I had some original debuts and loved them as well. I am pretty sure I would prefer a used pair of the originals to these since the sound signature was exactly what I was looking for and apparently these are a bit brighter. These are certainly a great buy for $180 though regardless.

I should hope so. Aren't those speakers $2000?

Without a sub, the elacs are better. Cores + sub vs Elacs + sub and then it's subjective, no clear cut winner. Cores will be better with detail, Elacs are fuller with better bass, but not as good with clarity & detail.

Then it's just a preference thing, I wouldn't say one is better than another. Again, so long as a sub is involved. If you don't have a sub with the cores, I suggest adding one.

Been enjoying my pair for the last 9 months. I'd buy them again.

As far as treble amount goes, I've never heard the originals, but I do have to turn the treble down on these (-5dB centered around 10k). It may not be an issue for most people. The front port is simply more convenient which is why I didn't buy the Debut 1.0 version.

What's good amplifier for this type of speakers? Or do I need receivers to combine those speakers with subwoofer?

They better be nice because those are $2000. How is the navis compared to the Unifi? LSX? Or LS50 wireless?

I had been waiting for these to go on sale - I had missed a $149 deal right around Black Friday last year. I pulled the trigger when they had gotten down to $197 on Amazon. Also picked up a reduced price center channel (C5.2).

Waiting for the on-wall surround speaker (OW4.2) to go on sale now, still hanging at $250. If anyone sees it come down, let me know!

Any recommendations for an amp/audio interface for just a computer setup?

Does anyone know why most ELACs, even more expensive ones, have very low sensitivity rating (aka efficiency)? 85-86db per 1watt/1 metter is very low and will require lots of power. Keep in mind to increase 3db, you need to double the power.

I have used a SMSL AD18 or a Nobsound Tone, both from amazon. They drive the Elac b6.2 just fine with USB connection to desktop and laptops. There is no obvious sound improvement to me using the SMSL, which costs like 4 times the Nobsound.
