This is only compatible with an ADT Security Hub; will not work with a regular SmartThings Hub.

ADT sensors, with the exception of the water sensors will ONLY work with the ADT BRANDED HUB and not the regular smartthings hub.

Unless you have the ADT branded SmartThings Hub, YOU CANNOT USE THIS. No ifs ands or buts

Do you meet encounter problem?
My motion sensor only works for about 5 minutes, and then idle forever.
I tried to change the battery, same problem

So I've had a bunch of SmartThings sensors before I bought the ADT kit that was on sale (good thing i bought one new and used from Amazon and Warehouse, as the new was DOA but the used worked). Anyhow what's ironic is the same design non ADT branded water leak detectors will NOT recognize as ADT device, which I find it odd.

I've had the Monoprice ones when I had WINK and they worked well and battery life was great. They also have temp sensor built-in. I bought a GE z-wave one later and it's pretty crappy; hard to setup and eats battery like crazy.

Which unit would be the best to go with ADT or the ring system for starting with that will be around for a while and system friendly with other devices over the time I have a lot of different brands Philips hue SmartThings Monoprice as most of you all have probably the prices seem pretty reasonable for add-ons with the two systems I just don't know what to do thanks for any help and assistance with this.

But can you use the sensor with an ADT hub for non-security type functions or use it in conjunction with non-ADT branded SmartThings products?
