I'm actually using this now to mix LFT mortar. I usually only mix no more than 1/2 of a 50 lbs bag at a time, because I'm not the fastest tiler, and this drill has no issues. A lot of low-end torque, perfect for mixing thick mortar at slower speeds.

I bought this drill a couple of years ago when I bought my first house. I tiled my laundry room and my entire main level (1000 sq.ft. of "wood look" 6x24" porcelain) and have mixed about 20+ bags of mortar with it. Still going strong.
you clearly have no idea what a refurb item is so don't spread wrong info. when a customer returns an opened item to Lowes, it will get refurbished. how is that inferior to a used tool sold on craiglist? they are both used. the one from Lowes must be lightly used to be able to return.

BST item have the same warranty as new units and they will quickly exchange within 30 days. Do get that from craigslist?

i am 7/7 with bst. some of them are now 8 years old. i am not a contrator thus i dont use them daily but i renovated a major portion of my house.
I bought one from same website, 2 yrs back for $17
its a work horse, drills rocksheet and cemented walls like butter.
I do have hitachi cordless too but this is rhino infront of cordless goats

Thank you for that quick response and experience with it. I'll give it a shot. Only going to be used for 3 bathrooms and possibly laundry room. Thanks again!

I have the smaller 5.4A version for doing that. No issues, don't run it for like 30 minutes :p

Just remember refurbished is still refurbished no matter what grade they give their own refurbished products..

I'm 3/3 with failed refurbished tools from them.

I know that everyone that responds to this will say how they have 100's of their power tools and they're still lasting after 50 years, in fact they work 200% better than the original tools but for me, that's not the case. I know another slickdealer was complaining before that they had issues within the short warranty window and after all of the shipping and all, it was not worth the risk of either them A) saying nope to repairing/replacing it or B) getting another dud that dies down the road.

It's ALWAYS better to get a used tool that's never been refurbished than a Grade "A" tool that has been refurbished. That's the harsh response I got on Reddit and some tool websites, them all saying the same thing "check craigslist, even if it has paint all over it or if it scruffed up, it's still better than a referb powertool."

I know a lot of you are in BUY BUY BUY mode but for those of you that don't have a tribal mindset over a corporation, climb down the fence and at wait a bit, you can find great sales on new or open box items. DeWalt's $600 table saw with stand was on a nice discount on Amazon, I bought it new but it had chipped paint on it.. seemed like an open box, someone used it for a project, got it ultra clean then sent it back. That $600 table saw after the initial discount and a partial refund ended up being $320. I've never seen any of the table saws in that price range go lower than the original Amazon sale that day, then on top of that the extra discount I would have never got from any other store. Try to find the DWE7491RS refurbished "Grade A" for $320.. nearly 50% off. Good luck.

I've also got open box powertools from Amazon that match "great" refurbished prices, especially if it comes repackaged.

Just saying, think smart.. maybe go on r/woodworking or r/powertools and ask a general question "Is it better to buy used or refurbished powertools." If you ask that question pointblank, nothing added, just a very simplistic answer - 9/10 the answer will be clear and most will point you to craigslist where they got their starter tools too (i just prefer Amazon, craigslist is great too, just bring a rape whistle).

What's good for a not so handy person that wants to be able to drill and use it for common household stuff? Like putting up pictures on the wall, shelves, and such?
