FYI for those interested in this phone, it is fantastic. My significant other has one and it has worked great since day one. She upgraded from a Galaxy s7. There are other unlocked phones out there for cheaper with "better specs" but this is better simply because. Most initial reviews were relatively positive, Update 9.0 came out and made the phone even better.

LOTS of LTE band support: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 28, 38, 40, 66. Wi-Fi 802. 11 a/b/g/n/ac,
*Xiaomi, Huawei , Blu struggle with true band support. This covers everything you need in America.
Android One - Updates for another 1 1/2 years
Android One - No bulk apps, no gui changes.
USB Type C
19:9 aspect ratio
NFC Built In (good for a budget phone)
Better build quality than most any phone out there

Main competitor is the Moto G7 which is a great phone but updates are extremely scarce from anything motorola. Terrible support long term.

No CDMA, so Verizon and Sprint users are out of luck with this one.

Also no Band 71 (perhaps only an issue if you're on TMO and rural)

Man... now that I've ported to Total Wireless, this phone is out of the question.

Well, even with the CDMA/LTE support, more than likely it's NOT on Verizon/TW whitelist anyway, I guess.

Good on Nokia for retaining the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Correct. Most unlocked phones in this price range are a long long long shot to support CDMA and GSM in one swoop.

Except many Motorola and some LG budget phones DO support all US and many worldwide networks.

The one that still ticks all my boxes is Motorola X4 (XT-1900-1). Factory unlocked, has Android One, NFC, and both 3G/4G CDMA/LTE bands for Verizon/TW, decent processor for my need (600-series Snapdragon), for less than $200. But, the hardware itself is getting older (i.e., support will be going away soon).

Yes some do. Those also get next to nothing as far as updates go and many LGs are full of bloat. You will be lucky to get any major android version after what you buy the phone at. The title reads GSM, so thus... this is a deal for customers who use GSM.

Certainly, but as you noted, lesser hardware, support almost over, 32gb of storage/3gb ram, 5.2" screen, giant chins. That phone would fall under the extreme budget class around the nokia 3.1/5.1 etc area.

B&H has Moto X4 XT1900-1 4GB/64GB for $200 with Mint Mobile 3-Month 8GB Prepaid SIM Card Kit. I'm really close on pulling the trigger on it, but, I'm still watching for other deals that might come out.

I'm currently on iPhone SE (which A9 processor is really amazing for its age), my last Android device was Galaxy S5. So, I haven't really accustomed to notch or chin-less phones at all. My coworker has the X4 and I was really surprised how good the phone feels overall, hardware and software.

Thanks. Was in the market for a new phone and was waiting for any of the ones I wanted to go on sale.

I'm replacing a Vivo 5R so this should be a large improvement.

FYI, I bought from B&H. Same price plus they throw in a 3 month mint mobile sim kit.

Also available at Best Buy with a Cricket refill card and sim kit. Have one in my cart for $309 with the $50 refill card added, effectively $259.

Sprint Moto Z2 works on all 4 major carriers after unlocking. Snapdragon 835, AMOLED screen. Can still be had for about $200 new in ebay. $149 during the sale a couple or so weeks ago.
