All I know is gs65 is just more battery life, slightly less weight, and harder to access mobo.
While y740 has 2070maxq, stays cooler apparently, and gsync.
gs65 fans are pretty loud gaming, while not loud to annoy me, those around me may think my laptop is preparing to take flight to the benchmark heaven.
I guess it comes down to if you want a laptop with more portability/work/school use (gs65).
or something more focused on gaming stationary, y740. or if you missed the gs65 deal.
And even then, the y740 only has a slightly better gpu being the 2070maxq.
I still think this is a great deal for anyone who missed the gs65 I am referencing. A few cons, but what laptop does not. Check out Bob's review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIYRQV7

I thought the same thing, but I just game and games r gpu intensive not CPU. The one in it is just fine for my needs. Dell also has the 9th gen FYI

It doesn't say MQ by the 2060.
It's in the tech specs section, search for 2060 Max-Q on the page and it will jump to the tech specs section.
