Not a bad price for the 4100, but it has been as low as $17.96 and $22.95. Those prices were around the holidays though when there are tons of electric toothbrush deals.

It's currently $39.95 on Amazon [amazon.com]. I'll wait for an deal under $30.

Anyone have a suggestion on a more durable electric toothbrush? I just had my 3rd Philips toothbrush malfunction and all the models lasted less than 3 years (1st was the basic Essence line that basically "traps" water/gunk to the point where product like this [thesonicseal.com] need to exist. 2nd was the Healthywhite model and the 3rd was the replacement for the 2nd that died just before the original 2 yr warranty ended but then also broke in under a yr). Wirecutter picks the Oral-B Pro 1000 and even though it has like 10,000+ reviews with like a 4.5ish star rating on Amazon, it's not hard to find its own share of bad reviews and experiences.

Should I just taper my expectations on how long these things are supposed to last? One would think by paying so much more for these (plus the cost of brush heads) versus manual toothbrushes, they should last way more than 3 years. The Burst looks interesting since it does have a lifetime warranty but the charcoal brush heads seem very gimmicky...
