It is awesome. I have the m18 rockets and the only negative to them is the weight and sheer size of the tool when folded. This is super light and compact. I'm working on a way to attach a sling to make it even easier to haul around.
One thing I didn't know it would be useful for is using it like a boom mic.
Fully extend the neck and leave the legs folded, use the handle and hold it as an extension to your arm.
Two of us were working in a small corner and I was able to stand back and hang the light in the perfect spot over their shoulder without standing on top of them.
It really is light, and feels sturdy.
Im glad they put a 120v plug in the bottom as well. This feels like a quality piece and I feel it will out last the m12 platform and batteries for years to come. I'm treating it more as an investment in long term lighting that won't have to be reliant on batteries years from now when something new comes along.
I think this is a great deal if you're invested in the M12 tool system. The free 6.0 battery is the highest capacity battery the M12 line has and as someone else mentioned you can easily flip this battery for $60 making this deal even sweeter.

That being said, I still think the M18 Rocket Tower is better than the M12 for several reasons: provides more lumens, more height, more run time (if you have a high capacity 18V 9.0 or 12.0 battery) and it can also charge your batteries if necessary. The downside is that it's more expensive (of course) and almost 10lbs heavier. I recently got in on the M18 Radius Compact light deal b/c I had more use for a portable light system indoors (power outages) and in sheds/garages. These tower lights are really meant for outdoor jobsite type situations (and maybe if you're a photographer?). They also have utility if you're a painter however I think you could still get away with one of the Radius lights for indoor contractor work.

A really good review of the of the M12 Rocket lights can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ2coSRMdTA

SUMMER20 kills the free battery. Make sure you double check.

This is an excellent light, and for $99 if you return the battery, it's an incredible value

Above comment says it's a $60 return value on the battery. Which one is true?

Just purchased from HD this morning. Return value on battery is $60, light is $90.

FYI my store had no signage about the free battery, but when they scanned both items at the checkout, it automatically added a "DeWalt M12 promo" and credited the $99.00 for the battery. Must be multiple promos going on.

I would like to know this as well.

You cannot, when purchased online it's one item, no way to separate them. Just purchase in store, I believe most if not all HDs are running this deal.

Thanks. I bought one last time so I already own it, but I didn't modify it yet so I should be able to just return the whole thing and repurchase then return the battery.

Drat, none of the stores near me have this product - can't even do the battery return if I wanted to. This thing would be awesome though - can't count the number of times where I wished I had a good light while working on my car outside or something.

Trying to decide if I should keep or return the battery? I recently bought the fuel combo kit with 2 batteries and the ratchet. How is the run time with smaller batteries?

Doresoom says 4 hrs on the 6ah batt, and 3hrs on the 4ah battery that came with your kit. https://youtu.be/gJ2coSRMdTA

Does anyone know where I can get a charger for the battery for cheap? I'm not on the Milwaukee platform yet, so I do not have a charger.

The light normally retails for $150, so the free battery is nice. Only thing about this guy is the height is a bit shorter than the m18 version and less lumens. Still very bright.
That's exactly why I like this one -- it's not too huge and too bright -- it's just right for work in smaller areas where you don't need to light up a whole jobsite. I have some of the larger M18 lights and they are great, but honestly they can be too large and heavy for quick work.

I saw this when it came out last year and immediately knew I wanted one. I was at an HD store and the Milwaukee rep was there, and I asked about it and any promos? She said (they tend to have cute female Milwaukee reps in my area -- don't know if that is by design but it's a nice feature) that since it was a new model it probably wouldn't get a promo until next year. But now it's next year, and the promo is here. I have plenty of M12 batteries but not this new big one. That will be great and gives me an excuse to buy the light I wanted anyway!

Great Deal! I've been thinking about getting this deal for the past few days and finally decided to pull the trigger. The reason being is that, based on my research, it's a really well made light, including a well thought out design, and it comes with a 5 year warranty to boot. Overall, it has to be one of the best lights I have ever seen.
This work light is going to be perfect for the harry homeowner like myself, but I would think that it would be well suited for any home contractor or professional that may need such a light. I could go on and on about this light, but I think Milwaukee and others who have reviewed this light in great detail has already done a pretty decent job. I see myself using this light for so many various purposes around the house inside/outside.

I almost pulled the trigger online, but read the various posts about not being able to return the battery. So I checked my store for inventory and was so happy to see it stocked in my area, along with the battery. And sure enough, it rang up under the DeWalt/M12 promotion for the free battery, which also makes me think that it probably applies to DeWalt line of products.

Thanks OP! You've been repped.

Purchased in store yesterday. The return value of the battery is $59.48 and of the light is $89.52. I have decided to keep both and along with recent m12 fuel combo deal will have 3 batteries and 4 tools.

Get a dual M12 M18 charger in case you branch out into M18 in the future. Will run you around $20 on ebay.
