This is correct. Tracfone is only for light users. With Google Hangouts and WiFi, one can still can get a lot done with this plan.

All depends on your usage. personally I use most of my data on wifi so I would rather have 3 GB to use over a year instead of 250 mb a month where I might only use 100 mb one month and the next I need 1 GB for traveling.

Why does it say $5/mo on the card? Is that some kind of fee in addition to the $49.99?

A little off topic. Does anyone know about any deals for ultra mobile 6 month refill for existing customers. TIA!

Don't know how this is beating RP at their own game. Red Pocket's basic plan gives you 500mb per month.
That's 6GB / year for $120 vs 3GB / year for $49 if we are only talking about data.

Exactly, this is for those of us that spend more time on wifi - it's double the data they normally sell for a higher price, good deal since I don't need any more cheapie Tracfones laying around. Going to add this to the year I already have on my new Pixel 3a.

Ebay 20% off is never going to come back. They aren't even doing the 15% this year.

I am going to buy it and hope some codes for extra minutes/data pop up before my expiration date. Wonder how long it will take for some codes to come out on these new products.

Last time I bought, RP basic cost $60 per year.

I'm confused by the Net10 Prepaid Wireless Phone Plan+SIM-Unlimited Talk & Text 5GB offering. Is it unlimited data every month (with some throttling after the 5 GB per month threshold)?

Since this is a pre-loaded sim card, how would you add it to an existing line?

Plus rather than having a set amount per month this rolls over so you use it as you need.
