OP, thanks for sharing. Please don't put "% off" in the title unless it's a specific "% off" coupon that you're sharing. According to Google Shopping, most other retailers are selling this for $299.99, so there's no way this is "50% off".

Remember, list prices, MSRP, etc... are all made up numbers.
I have this Ecovacs 900, and previously had a Neato Botvac 85. I think the Neato's suctioning power is greater. The mapping with virtual walls in this is pretty good and was the main reason I got this at the time over the Neato. In addition, I have some wool carpet that was getting broken up by the brush power of the Neato, so this Ecovacs lets me run it without the brush (the old Neato did not let me do that).

Since I bought this last year, however, Neato brought mapping with virtual walls to their line up (D3, D5, D6, d7). I think a few months ago the D5 was as low as $199 (https://slickdeals.net/f/12704959-neato-robotics-botvac-d5-robot-vacuum-black-200-free-shipping)... so overall I would say if you need one now, this is a good deal, but if you can hold out or need stronger suctioning, I would probably wait for a Neato (maybe even good deals come Black friday).

fwiw also my ecovacs stopped charging after 6 months, and ecovacs replaced it (a little bit of a hassle but not major)... but it does makes me a little worried about longevity...
Sure, but don't expect it to work very long after said actions.

Ordered one. Was waiting for a deal on a N79S but for the area it's covering the mapping is a nice to have.

This vacuum is pretty good. Mapping and virtual barriers all work great. I have lost the maps a couple times. The suction isn't great but I have it to pick up dog and cat hair everyday, which it is great at. I bought mine on a Costco deal at $149 a while back and it was definitely worth that. Not sure how it compares to other vacs at $250.

When was it $149 at Costco and was it the Deebot 907?

I have the R95 and the laser mapping is fascinating. I dont know how other companies do it but ecovacs has placed a LIDAR unit in the small circular pod at the rear of the unit. Any of the deebots with this feature vacuum far more intelligently because they know precisely where they are in a room. The still bump into small things like chair legs sometimes but overall the unit doesn't touch walls or furniture. It will drive within a mm of it stop turn and continue on.

The mopping is acceptable. The reservoir is small so it has to be refilled every 5-10 minutes. Make sure you block off carpeted areas while mopping. The OZMO series are the only ones with carpet and rug detection.

After trying this for 2 days, I must say I'm impressed. It did take 3 times to get the map saved but that was user error. 1x it got stuck on high carpet when the battery was low and I went to sleep and the battery died as I couldn't move it. The other time I moved the charging station after it started and that's a no no. Third time was the charm and quite addicting to watch as the vacuum app has lines of what it has cleaned.

It takes about 4 hours to charge full and lasts 100 mins. I was able to get the whole main floor roughly 2000 square feet with just one additional charge.

The virtual boundries is quite neat as I can create areas I don't want it to go without extra hardware. I have some pet food and water bowls and some chargers on the floor. Very accurate.

All and all for the price and features comparable to the Roomba 960 at half the cost, I would buy it again. This was used on laminate hard surface with a few area rugs.

I wish there was a way to save multiple maps so I can try the second floor as it has all carpet. I'm excited to try the custom vacuum feature as I can pick areas or rooms to vacuum. I wonder if it will be faster now that it has a map saved?
