You can also run linux on some models and I heard some stuff about people fiddle faddling to get windows to run on it, but it'll run at a fraction of the speed of chrome OS.
Note: I use almost exclusively chrome devices excepting one windows box I keep for a few windows only apps and I feel this move by google to drop support for ad blockers and dropping support for perfectly good hardware to be a hard stop for me to continue buying chrome OS devices. Windows updates 8 year old machines and some even older.
I have 3 i5/4GB samsung chromeboxes they discontinued last year that are beasts. Writing this from an i7 chromebox that loses support in a couple of months.
With billions in their pockets, google should be able to do better than this.

Anyone know if there issues with Chromebook OS being EOF and can Windows be installed after that?
I see other <$100 Chromebook threads talking about Google not supporting upgrades after a certain point.

Don't think you're going to be able to install windows on one of these, but I think you could put together your own linux or chromium os image and install that.

Glad the first thing I do with a new laptop is add a USB mouse. (I've got a case of them in my basement form a Staples price mistake a few years back)

The ram cant be upgraded. I find 4gb ram to be very limiting imo. This hp i had for several months from the open box bestbuy deal i picked up for $330. I like eveything about it except the weight.
