Saw a new sign at Walmart that looks pretty interesting. There's no dates on it, and I can't find any info on the deal anywhere which tells me that someone probably screwed up and put the sign out too soon....but anyway.
Seems like a pretty good deal for AT&T network:
$50/mo. but $40 with autopay:
- UNL Talk & Text
- 25GB High Speed Data then 2G
- Hotspot included
- Mexico and Canada roaming included
2 lines would be $70, 3 lines would be $100, 4 lines would be $120, and 5 lines would be $140.
Looks like this deal is only at Walmart - everywhere else has 16GB data offer and it requires autopay. This offer looks like it doesn't require auto-pay.

So with porting in, it does not matter when you port in. From your experience, you ported in a single visit to att store, and kept the sim inside the walmart phone til the 17Gb data showed up.
I wanna redo this again, i might port out to t-mobile get the $3 plan +$10 sim card, then port in again to att but ill bring the walmart phone to an att store and port in the same time.
Or should i port out to google voice instead? it's $20 to port out.

In my case, where I ported in, I kept the SIM in the card until the bonus showed up.
In your case, does the short code to ATT to check data usage (*777*3#) show the 17gb bonus, or only the 8gb base data? In my case so far, online portal shows 17gb bonus, but short code response only shows 8gb base data.

And this older quote by you:
06/21
- Purchased Walmart phone (Cingular Flip 2)
- Activated phone through online activation portal and bought $50 plan
- After 1-2 hours, I ported in my number from T-Mobile and swapped phones
Still waiting for bonus data. Hopefully it's added by middle of next week.
I will report back.
I kept the ATT prepaid phones and didn't touch the SIM cards for 5-6 days, and got the bonus data.
For those who do this in the future, if you are porting in, do NOT swap phones until you get the bonus data.
I would also advise porting in during the activation process, or wait until bonus data shows up, and then port in.
Called customer service and he is "certain" that after the 10 days, I will get another 17 GB (33 total). I told him that is very unlikely and I'm not porting my numbers until this is straightened out. Any advice on how to escalate it from offshore CS who is just saying whatever he thinks will get me off the phone the quickest?
2 Activated online, got new number..
3 Kept sim in the LG for about 5 days ..
4 Got the 17GB bonus on day 5, iirc..
5 Swapped sim to my unlocked LG V30..
Day 12 today : All is well.

No one seems to want to answer this question!
My 17gb shows up online, but not when I text ATT for my data usage.
FYI - from your phone number dial pad, just enter *777*3# and then call, and ATT will send you a text about your data usage and plan allotment.
I did swap the SIM immediately after activation and i have not ported number and will prob not. GV is working for me. Rep did say there is no set time frame for when/if I decide to port but who knows.
i did file a FCC complaint last Tues, got a generic acknowledgement the next day and two days later got a call from an AT&T manager in Alabama ack'ing my complaint. so there's that.

Now when you check your usage via short code via *777*3# does the text reflect the bonus data? FYI - from your phone number dial pad, just enter *777*3# and then call, and ATT will send you a text about your data usage and plan allotment.

So you are using R-SIM, which tricks the (other carrier locked) iPhone / ATT into thinking you are using a different ICCID (phone identifier) than the actual iPhone you are using, so your example may not be a good representation of a normal buyer who puts their sim into a regular ATT compatible phone.
And this older quote by you:
So you didn't port in numbers, you just got a new number. From what I read, getting a new number is pretty much guaranteed to get the data bonus. It's those who are porting who have experienced some issues getting the 17gb bonus.

Much appreciated!!
