AT&T Prepaid: UNL Talk & Text + 25GB for $40/mo. with autopay ($50 without) *Walmart Exclusive*

Saw a new sign at Walmart that looks pretty interesting. There's no dates on it, and I can't find any info on the deal anywhere which tells me that someone probably screwed up and put the sign out too soon....but anyway.

Seems like a pretty good deal for AT&T network:

$50/mo. but $40 with autopay:
- UNL Talk & Text
- 25GB High Speed Data then 2G
- Hotspot included
- Mexico and Canada roaming included

2 lines would be $70, 3 lines would be $100, 4 lines would be $120, and 5 lines would be $140.

Looks like this deal is only at Walmart - everywhere else has 16GB data offer and it requires autopay. This offer looks like it doesn't require auto-pay.

FAQ:

Deal requires purchase of an AT&T PREPAID phone from either a Walmart store or from walmart.com. It does not have to be a smartphone. The Cingular Flip 2 also works.

If you have no intention of using the Walmart phone and want to swap to a different phone, verify the Walmart phone you buy has the same size SIM card as the phone you want to use (most use nanoSIM cards these days). To be safe, use the Walmart phone until your bonus data appears on your account.

Online activation does not give you an option to port your number. It will only give you a new number based on the zip code you enter during activation. Try calling customer service to activate if you wish to port your number over.

If you activated your phone with a new number and wish to port your old number over to it after the fact, read the warning below:

Warning about porting after activation: YMMV Several users are reporting that they aren't receiving the 17GB of bonus data after porting their number over and only receiving 8GB of bonus from the regular AT&T deal. Many are getting the runaround and being told to wait the entire 10 days to see if the full 17GB shows up. At least one user has so far and still hasn't received it. AT&T has escalated their case and they're waiting to hear back (https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=128395369&postcount=359).

Phone numbers:

AT&T customer service: 1-800-901-9878 or 611 on any AT&T mobile phone
AT&T's Port Activation Center: 1-888-898-7685

This deal is valid until first week of September. Spoke with a ATT rep last night, she said this is a new deal and she will be following my account to see if I get 17 GB bonus or not because I changed the sim, phone and port in my number on the same day (7/3) I bought the prepaid cards. Still waiting for 17 GB bonus data to kick in

- 25GB High Speed Data then 2G
It might as well read "25GB High Speed Data then NO Internet service"

Most if not all unlimited cap 4g at 22mb, so this isn't bad, if this exists, of course.

Doesn't that sign say "When you buy an ATT Prepaid phone at WalMart"

Does that imply a purchase of a new phone too?

This is a better than the current 15gb per line deal. I have been holding off jumping to it since the offer is on to July something. If it is a real thing then I will switch from my free Sprint lines asap. Hopefully though Verizon will up the data on their prepaid offer to match. That may make paying a little more premium worthwhile.

This is a good deal if you needed the extra 9GB it gives you over the current 16GB. If 16GB is enough for you though, AT&T directly is currently offering $25 credit if you switch/activate it online : https://www.att.com/prepaid/

I was just about to switch over to the 16GB promotion this weekend online to take advantage of the $25 credit per line. Will have to check Walmart out instead as the data is more important to me

This is nice. Currently on the 8gb version of this plan. Might have to do some shenanigans to get on this. Might actually be worth buying a cheap phone to get an extra 17gb per month...
