This is not a hard nor complicated install. Took a few minutes. Took longer to get the ladder to mount the device where I wanted it.
This works fine with smartthings with the custom handler/smartapp. Been using it for some time.
I do not pay any extra fees for this ability and on top of that the app is pretty nice and good enough for most cases.
LED light bulbs can interfere with any garage door. This has nothing to do with this device. They do make LEDs designed for garage door use that have been designed to minimize the interference.
I have had 0 issues with this device. The garage door never magically opens.
This is a great price for a nice product that works.

1) this is not a simple installation and you'll need to have a solid understanding of your network, bluetooth, etc.
2) should work with most openers post=1993
3) does NOT integrate with smartthings, or other 3rd party equipment.
4) for full functionality you'll have to pay a subscription fee on an ongoing basis.
I'll pass.

#4. Only if you want it to connect to other 3rd party apps. And if you want it to auto open and close when you leave and come back.
I only get this to know if garage is open for an extended periods or if I forget to close it when I'm away. $40 worth it for me.
the problem is there isn't any other that is compatible with the system .
I
To me the most important functionally is to be able to see if the garage is open and to be able to close remotely. You can do both if these through the app without a subscription.

Fair statement. What do you think the risk is with a garage door opener?
Only if you don't consider garage opener an entry way to your house?
Half empty: Someone hacks into the app and opens the garage door and steal your kid's bicycle.
