There is a lot of wrong and useless information in this thread.

This is not a hard nor complicated install. Took a few minutes. Took longer to get the ladder to mount the device where I wanted it.

This works fine with smartthings with the custom handler/smartapp. Been using it for some time.
I do not pay any extra fees for this ability and on top of that the app is pretty nice and good enough for most cases.

LED light bulbs can interfere with any garage door. This has nothing to do with this device. They do make LEDs designed for garage door use that have been designed to minimize the interference.

I have had 0 issues with this device. The garage door never magically opens.

This is a great price for a nice product that works.

Stop spreading silly lies for no reason.
To me the most important functionally is to be able to see if the garage is open and to be able to close remotely. You can do both if these through the app without a subscription.
Install took me 10 minutes, counting the cleaning off of my garage door. I needed a solution that allowed all of my family to use their phones to open the garage door. The basic app also tells me when the door is opened and how long it's been closed. Worth it for us.

Recommend that you read and understand all the reviews before you buy.

1) this is not a simple installation and you'll need to have a solid understanding of your network, bluetooth, etc.
2) should work with most openers post=1993
3) does NOT integrate with smartthings, or other 3rd party equipment.
4) for full functionality you'll have to pay a subscription fee on an ongoing basis.

I'll pass.

Fro me the most important point is number 4: for full functionality you'll have to pay a subscription fee on an ongoing basis.

#4. Only if you want it to connect to other 3rd party apps. And if you want it to auto open and close when you leave and come back.

I only get this to know if garage is open for an extended periods or if I forget to close it when I'm away. $40 worth it for me.

the problem is there isn't any other that is compatible with the system .

I bought and returned one for the most ridiculous reason I've ever heard, LED lighting interfers with it. I spent 2 hours on the phone with support until they dropped that nugget on me. Them: "you don't have any LED lights in your garage do you?" Me: yes it's 2019 all the lights are LED. They advised me to remove the LEDs and try again. I told them to stick it, and returned the POS.

Fair statement. What do you think the risk is with a garage door opener?

Only if you don't consider garage opener an entry way to your house?

Glass half full: Someone forgets the garage open, does not get a notification about that, and can't remotely close it. kid's bicycle gets stolen.

Half empty: Someone hacks into the app and opens the garage door and steal your kid's bicycle.
