I have the 38" monitor and it's so nice. I use it with a MacBook Pro and love using a single wire between the monitor and laptop and all is done through that cable.

I have the U3419W and love it. To me, it's better than dual 27" because I can have 3 windows evenly split. A 38" may be a little bit better, but wasn't in the budget for me at the time.

does the 3419w auto switch input based on signal. I have a P2419H that doesn't do it. it is very frustrating using the tiny menu buttons

the best aspect of u3419w is the USB-C port. single connection to laptop that carries mouse,keyboard and video and it charges the laptop no more separate need for a dock or multiple cables. All newer laptops have USB-C ports

My two cents:

I went from a 34" ultrawide to the 49", and TBH I would probably go with the 38" if I were to do it again. I find myself shifting left and right more than I feel I should, and I am sitting about 3' from the monitor.

Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful, however my next purchase will have more pixels height-wise.

Picked up the 49" the last time this deal was around - no issues to date with the refurbished display - monitor is fantastic.

If you have a mac - make sure it supports this display - e.g. the base MBP 13", macbook and mini(iirc) can't use the full resolution on this display and need to use it as two separate displays.
