If 550 is plenty (which it probably is for most people) then the Seasonic is the better choice.

This thing does run really hot! I'm almost worried as my previous one never ran as hot as this thing.

When did Bittech and Tom's Hardware (which I assume is what you're referring to) review this psu?
I have the 650W version and the fan doesn't even spin at 350W+ load.
PCPartPicker has it running at 334W peak. Should be fine right?
