This price matches a previous Frontpage Deal. -oceanlake
The XPG is TLC, this is QLC. That means that the Adata is gonna have faster sustained speeds and will last longer overall.
Nothing wrong with using it for gaming. Gaming is mostly reading and load times will be comparable to fastest NVME drives. Agreed on video editing though.
If you are using this for typical end-user use cases (booting OS, loading programs/games), it is fine, that is what it is made for.
If you are using this for extreme use cases (video editing, running large databases), get a better drive.
Hmm...well...This drive is QLC memory and earlier there was a deal for 1TB SAMSUNG 860 QVO 2.5" SSD $90 @ Newegg.
The price seemed good, so I went on newegg determined that i was getting a new drive.
I decided to read a few reviews first before doing so...and the very first reviewer had this to say about QLC memory. I'll copy and paste it below:
"Pros: The price of superior TLC SSDs keeps dropping so you can get one of them for the same price as this.
Cons: 860 QVO has QLC memory which is the worst you can get. Slower that TLC memory SSDs. Won't last as long. Shorter warranty. The more you fill it up, the slower it gets. All of these Cons and it's not really any cheaper except maybe at the 4TB size. The manufactures want to sell you QLC cause they can produce it cheaper and make more $$$ figuring you won't know the difference. For QLC drives to be worth buying they would have to sell for 2/3 to half the price of TLC SSDs and they don't"
"Overall Review: recently I got a 1TB WD Blue 3D TLC drive here on sale for 96. It's faster, lasts longer, doesn't slow down when it fills up AND HAS A 5YR WARRANTY. This is on sale for 89 for a 1TB. Who wouldn't pay 7 more to get a faster, longer lasting drive PLUS two more years warranty??? WD Blue 3D & Crucial MX500 are always going on sale making them a much better value for 1-2TB. I have several 860 EVOS and they can't be beat. If you really want a Samsung and don't need more than 1TB, wait for the 860 EVO to go on sale and get one of those. The 2TB 860 EVO is a little pricey compared to the WD Blue & Crucial MX500"
After having read that...I decided QLC memory wasnt for me and opted with TLC memory and went for the 1TB Adata XPG SX8200 SSD that's on sale from urlhasbeenblocked. I found the above info useful so i'm just sharing it here as some others may find it useful in making an informed decision as to if this is the right DRIVE for them.

ADATA's says: "offers peak read/write speeds of 3500/3000MB per second"
Intel's:
Sequential Read Up to 1,800MB/s
Sequential Write Up to 1,800MB/s
ADATA almost twice as fast for $30 more.
The ADATA is a 'more solid' brand - i.e, longer lifetime, etc but if that were a concern you would get the newest Evo Pro from Samsung, essentially the leader all around so far but this is an excellent drive and intel is reliable.

For serious workloads, sx8200 is far superior.

Great drive for storage or office use. Do not try to use it for 3A gaming or video editing!
