FYSA - this is the non-Octane impact drill and battery. For $50 more, you can get the Octane version with a 3 and a 6 amp-hour Octane battery and charger.
Much better deal to get the octane battery combo. This impact wrench is actually the Octane also, just not branded as Octane. The only way to get full torque (620 ft/lb) is with Octane batteries either way

This is a great tool for anyone who does DIY work on their cars. I have the non Octane battery but still 4AH and it works easily to buzz off lugnuts etc. I know there are the larger Milwaukee ones that have 1000 lb ft of torque but they are more expensive and really heavy and larger size so less flexible. I think those are really just needed if you need to break loose a Honda crank bolt for a timing belt job, although I have also heard that if you use the Lisle heavy mass socket even on a normal impact like this Ridgid you can get it done.

I have the non octane version of this and it does lugs without hesitation. It also took my 93' Infiniti (Nissan)'s crank pulley bolt off without issue as well.

How often does Ridgid change their battery compatibility? I have some tools from DeWalt from years ago that still work fine, but won't take the new batteries.

I've read Ryobi usually keep the batteries compatible throughout the years. Any long time Ridgid users here?

I was looking at this thread, interested in the impact wrench kit, but started looking at my past orders and realized that I have this already. lol

I also got in on the deal for the "RIDGID 18-Volt OCTANE Lithium-Ion Bluetooth 3.0 Ah and 6.0 Ah Battery Starter Kit with Charger" and got the 9Ah battery for $39 with it.

I got more batteries and chargers than I can count! I need to get my workbench in order.
