Oh gosh why do you continue writing your username after your post 😱
Plus taxes and fees. If you live in IL like I do, taxes will be like $8 extra per month. There is always a $5 e911 fee plus other bogus fees.
mint is $240 for a yr on their 1 yr/8gb plan. They also have buy 3 months get 3 months free promotion for New comers right now

I just loaded 30 $10 prepay cards i got for $230 on eBay. It took about 4hrs to get the pins once paid but they all loaded. Can't beat it. The second I entered the last one the account instantly activated.

can't beat $19/mo for 12mo with 8gb and no added tax or fee. This should be illegal 😂

Could you give details exactly what step you did? Like did you buy the sim at store or at ATT site? Did you port your number and got confirmation porting successful before you load the prepaid card? Please share the process.
Also, since you bought and load successfully the prepaid cards, could you share the link to the seller on eBay?
Appreciate your help.
I'm trying to gather as much info as possible since I'm one week away fro doing it myself.

I didn't see the option to remove the sim. If I remember correctly, some people discussed about buying the sim from the store few pages earlier. But it seemed more complicated. I froze my card only when I called to get it activated (was a pain to get rid of bots) and removed the freeze immediately after getting the message that a transaction from ATT has been declined (max 3-4 hrs later). Alternatively, you may try to use a virtual card with $5-6 limit.

My take: Go through the normal route, unless you stand to save significant amount (I paid $270 - 5% cash back on 270). It's not worth the hassle otherwise.
I check on ATT web site about how much tax it would collect from me. It would be 18% plus other garbage fee..so if I round it up, I would pay approximately $300 + $54 tax + $6 = say $360. So i comes down to $30 a month.

Gladly, although getting the number to port is the only complicated part
  • Contacted my former carrier and got a port Account # and Pin# so I can keep my current phone number
  • Paid for AT&T sim via CC and entered the 2 numbers above along with my phone number
  • During checkout made a AT&T account by adding email and password
  • Sim arrived in 3 days
  • Installed sim to phone
  • Activated SIM at https://www.att.com/prepaid/activ...ivate.html
  • Went to follow the onscreen instructions after activation, but could not link phone to account (the problem most are having). I got on chat support and told them to look into it. The forward me to the porting group and they worked their magic. Waited about 1hr restarted phone.
  • Once the port was fully complete I could make the AT&T account by entering in your phone number for username.
  • Bought $300 worth of prepaid AT&T cards. I found some discounted on ebay $100 worth for $76.99 so bought 3 sets. $300 worth for $230.97
  • This is the seller I picked but there are others. https://www.ebay.com/usr/ravavr.p...7675.l2559
  • Cards took about 5hrs to be emailed
  • Loaded cards one by one onto the account
  • Before I added the last prepay card one I decided to lock/freeze my CC I used to buy the AT&T sim with just as extra precaution not to be double charged once everything became active.
  • Once I added the last $10 card to total $300 to the account voice/data instantly worked

Very little hassle but for $19mo with no added tax or fee's well worth it Applause

Did you enter your port in number at the time of sim purchase from att site or went for a new number

My experience was a bit rough - like that experienced by others. But knowing what to anticipate helped!

- Ordered SIM/$300 plan with CC on Monday 9/9
- Received SIM on Wed 9/11 - decided to wait to activate
- Started at 12:30 on Thurs 9/12 and completed around 2pm - with constant effort
  • Had checked that my port from Republic Wireless was 'confirmed' (on Republic's end all was entirely smooth)
  • Inserted new sim in powered off phone and powered up - recognized att network - but nothing active
  • Went to online link as suggested above - entered all my input and was told great activated go to manage account link
  • As others have experienced - it did not recognize my phone number or pin or 'forgot' password
  • As suggested above finally got to 'chat' and requested to be connected with Port via chat. They said only by could be reached by call but that they'd have porting dept call me at my home number (landline) - a tech called promptly, asked what I wanted and then transferred me to Porting dept. The problem though, was while I could hear them, they couldn't hear me and they hung up. And trying to call the porting number back at 888-898-7685 or calling 877-426-0525 never got me to a live person. All responses resulted in invalid number/account/ and endless loop or referring me to go to an AT&T store.
  • I got to chat a second time - with exactly the same result - porting person could NOT hear me.
  • I got to chat a 3rd time and asked that they keep the chat open; when the tech person came on the line I asked that they also remain on the line until I confirmed that the porting person could hear me or have him act as an intermediary. The porting person could hear me while the tech person remained on the line and he put himself on mute while I completed the port via the porting person.
  • After she told me I was good to go - I kept her on the line while I went to paygonline.com to create the account giving me number as account, and last 4 digits as pw and did receive a text with temporary password and was able to create the account and pay via credit card. I did not go the prepaid card route.
I am glad that I won't have to interact with AT&T prepaid for 300 days....Porting from Cricket to Republic was flawless. Porting from Republic (despite horror stories in the past since number can be perceived as landline) was flawless. But the AT&T side of things was less than stellar.

But the feedback from others on this board gave me a good idea what to expect - and I allowed enough time and had all the info necessary to get it done. Thanks!

Update 9/13 - to add insult to injury - at 4am today received a 2nd charge to credit card for same amount. Both pending - I added a dispute note to today's charge.

Hi, sorry if it has been answered already, does anyone know how can I get this offer with existing ATT number I have? ATT said they cant change my plan as this is for new accounts/numbers only. One way, I can think of is to move to T-Mobile and then change back to ATT but that will too much of a hassle.

If anyone who got the deal and paid with the refill cards purchased separately (instead of using cc to pay) please update here if they charged you for the new month on the cc that used to buy the sim on their website...thank you

How does the data roll over work? They said roll over for one month only. Does it mean, Jan to Feb, Mar to Apr, May to Jun, Jul to Aug, etc? Data left in Feb, Apr, Jun, and Aug etc will be forfeited? I just picked the starting point as Jan for demonstrate...

This thread is littered with people who did just that - put a little work in if you want the deal.

The data you have left from January will rollover to Feb. But once March comes around this resets. So, you'll only get data rollover from the month of February, not January. So, you'll lose January's data.

Ex: you have 4GB from January. So, Feb you get 12GB of Data. You only use 3 GB in Feb, so you're left with 9GB. Well, in this case you'll lose 1GB and only 8GB will rollover to Mar.
