Dell and Walmart both have the 27" S2719DGF Gaming Monitor for $284.65. The monitor comes with an HDMI 2.0 Cable. I've had my eye on these and just grabbed 2. Get it before it's gone, as they pulled this deal 2 weeks ago after about 14 hours.

I think it should be expected at this price. Also not quite sure with the Internets loathing of TN panels, especially something coined 'gaming monitor'. All things being equal, it would make sense for everyone to have IPS but for what is often a large price disparity and often refresh rate disparity TN panels make a lot of sense. Second, I get, more accurate colors = good but should the average or even above average PC Gamer really care (real question)?
I have this model. For anyone wondering, It's on the good side of OK. For the money it's solidly good for sure. It's got Fairly even backlighting. contrast is good, not great and blacks are pretty bad. It's leagues better than any other TN screen I've seen for sure and the viewing angle is seriously incredible for a TN. Distortions are interesting though. Colors and contrast instantly distort SLIGHTLY in typical TN fashion when not looking at the display directly-on. However, after that they distort literally no more at all until you're viewing at nearly a perpendicular angle to it. It's really incredible how good of a TN it is. Also there are 2 revisions. The A01 (what I have) has a weird backlighting Halo on black screens where there's a dark circle about 7 inches in diameter directly in the center of the screen. It is only evident in completely black screens and vanishes with any image being displayed. The B revision has apparently corrected this assembly problem. I received my unit with no bad pixels though. This is nearly impossible and I'll probably keep the unit for this reason alone. If you're feeling like playing yet another panel lottery (which I despise with the heat of a hundred suns) and you manage to get a super rare B revision this is totally worth the money. The A01 is pretty much exactly what I expect and I'm content with it. When I try to decide if it's any good, I just keep thinking it's incredible... for a TN. I'm not ecstatic though and if any of my advice is to be followed, it would be to buy this from a brick and mortar. Anyone who frequently buys displays will tell you it is damn near impossible to get one that doesn't have bad pixels out of the box. My last display I returned 6 times before I found a good one.
G-Sync version is $350 at BestBuy for those interested.

I was in for 2 on this, and found some color calibration settings to test when they arrive on Wednesday.

Wait, so g-sync now works on freesync monitors? Or does this monitor have both?

They recently updated drivers to support it, ymmv per model, but I imagine a Dell monitor should be well supported.

Looks like Amazon matched the price. CCC shows the price dropped to the same, lowest it's ever been.

Also, rtings review. Monitor overall is mediocre but specifically for Gaming it is in their top 12 gaming monitors: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...l/s2719dgf

Tried to buy from Amazon, but sold out by the time I got to my cart.

Luckily, snagged one from Amazon Warehouse for final total of $236.56

The note was:
"Condition: Used - Like New - Item will come in original packaging. Packaging will be damaged."

That note makes me think it might be new in box (never opened) but the box was messed up. $55 off for that is just fine with me.

Once calibrated you'd barely be able to tell this is a TN panel. It's pretty amazing, especially considering the price.

The G-sync premium. There is still a benefit of gsync over freesync at certain FPS but really it's pretty much just people thinking they have to have gsync. Also the gsync model had noticeable color banding issues previously not sure if they've fixed that.
