Few years ago I had a coworker visiting from Brazil. I've taken him to Samsonite outlet because he wanted to purchase zipperless suitcases. According to him at some countries baggage handlers cut the fabric of the zipper when zippers are locked. That's why he wanted the clasp style instead of zipper.
Something to think before deciding on suitcase style.

It's not baggage handlers who do that - it is customs.

Anything better out there for $100? We need new luggage but not sure if it's worth it

Not sure if the quality is the same, but similar Samsonite luggage can be found at my local Marshalls.

How does this model hold up versus traditional zipper style baggage?

There are ways to unzip and rezip them without being detected, which is why I'm looking to get one of these... The price for the 20" is little rich for me though.

Looks decent
Would anyone know how heavy 28" and 25" is. And dimensions for 28"
Tried to find on their website but could not find that basic info.
Tia
In comment section found that 28" is very heavy (12lb) and big over 64" in total length - but not sure how reliable that info from disappointed customer is.

Amazon has hardside luggage set of 3 for around $100 often. Or you can buy they separately and while I haven't bought them yet I know two people that have and said they work well for the price.

Samsonite website says weight is 8.1lb for 20 and 10lb for 25", similar to all hardsides. That is good. I had one zipper come apart at home while packing. Every time I see an open bag in plastic tray coming in the carousal at airport, I am scarred it is mine. This might be worth the extra money.
