I had a different model chest freezer, with a very dim green light near the bottom It tripped the GFCI multiple times. After losing too much food, I bought a GFCI with an audible alarm when tripped. It never tripped again, instead the compressor stopped working and we still lost everything.
I bought this same model a couple.of years ago at $99, it's still working fine, have had no issues with it. this is the lowest I've seen it after that.

I've been thinking about getting a chest freezer, but for the garage. Does anyone have any experience with one of these in a garage? How does it perform?
Thanks!
My dad have one inside his garage. So far he never complained
Thanks OP. I bought this last weekend at $139. I was able to get a refund of the difference today through chat.

Was looking for a Chest Freezer 5.0 cu ft and saw the price have drop to $119.99. around Labor Day this was $139.99. For some reason Best Buy have the best price comparing from Lowes/Home Depot even with my Military Discount still can't beat Best Buy Price.
Better off with a frost-free model. Since has Defrost drain
Provide a path for condensate water to flow. But for this price you can't go wrong. Wish the 3.5 model was cheaper. I just need smaller for my UTL room.

Good clarification. I made my call based on the photos that did not clearly show a light. Based on the manual, it is a blue LED beneath the temperature control dial.
Use an inkbird temperature controller if you want to use this at different temperatures. For my beer fermenting, I keep it at 70 degrees and the inkbird turns on and off the refrigerator to maintain a range in temperature. Also with the inkbird, you can turn this into a make shift refrigerator.
I bought this a year ago, for the original price of $180. It works great! extremely quiet and no issues. It does have the light on to let me know it's running. Great deal! Would get this deal if there is a need for me.
Looks like its $270 now, was this 129 in store only?
Online it was $270, and in-store in Southern AZ was $149 for all summer. Showed up one day in August and it was $129. If Costco still has it in store, probably will be $150. I looked at the Insignia 5.0 Cu Ft in store because it would fit where I want it but the Costco Hisense is just higher quality and bigger and cheaper than the $169 Best Buy price for the one listed at the time.
