Yea he's a feared assassin and Casey is a trained spy. Austin punched Chuck in the gut and Chuck got up, you can't tell me he's THAT dangerous. If I punched a geek in the gut he's not getting up that quickly. Austin may be a great assassin because he knows how to use some tools effective, like apparently he loved that sword he was planning to use. That doesn't mean he's inherently a better fighter than Casey.
Ever since Chuck became the intersect, he's developed a hell of a jaw (sort of speak). He's taken quite a few shots and bounced right back after showing some pain.

I saw yesterday's episode. As you'd expect, everyone at Buy More was slobbering over Hannah. Looks like Chuck is becoming more robotic like an agent needs to be and Sarah seems disturbed by that.

Awesome was stupid for trashing the tickets and arousing even more suspicion from Ellie. All this secrecy between Chuck and Awesome and everyone else (non-agents) is getting annoying.

Thanks. I hope it'll just be the season finale and not the series finale.

It should just be season. But you have to keep telling your friends etc. about the show. The ratings are good, but its not a NBC owned show. So the only way that NBC makes money is from the ads. So make sure to support the Chuck advertisers. Wink When you do, send the sponsors a email or snail mail. Wouldn't hurt to drop NBC a email or snail mail as well.

It was. Chuck's got a new g/f! And Sarah has a new b/f. But that seems too convenient. And all that secrecy stuff is getting annoying. I wonder if Chuck will eventually spill the beans to everyone. Many of the regulars weren't on yesterday, like Awesome, Jeff, Lester, Big Mike, etc.

I didn't know there's a diff. in a show about "NBC owned" or not. Too bad I FF through the ads, so I don't know who to support. laugh out loud

There's a big difference. A show from another studio is purchased by the broadcaster, and they have to cover those costs with advertising. Bidding for these shows can often get quite high. The last huge show like this was probably Studio 60, which many people thought was going to be a huge hit and NBC bid a HUGE amount for. It ended up not getting good enough ratings to even keep it's timeslot, and was a one season show. If your broadcast company owns the studio and production company that's making a new show, you make money on the back end when the show goes to syndication plus you're not locked into any contractual fee. If the show isn't making as much money as you thought it would, you tell the producers to go back to the drawing board, fire a high priced actor, whatever it takes to fix the problem. When you're just buying a show from someone else, you have to pay the agreed upon price for the agreed upon time period. If you bought a full season and it's flopping after 4 episodes, you're still on the hook. Because of this, most new shows only get 13 episode order and then the back 9 hang in the balance depending on ratings. But many times a show is ok but questionable out of the gate, and will struggle in it's 2nd or 3rd seasons and be debateble as to whether it will return. But those shows don't typically get variable orders that can be extended mid-season. It's usually a matter of getting a full season or getting fewer eps as a midseason replacement.

One thing that bodes well for Chuck though: NBC just cleared 5 hours of prime time programming a week when Jay Leno failed miserably at 10pm. Those L&Os are going to 10pm and there's plenty of room for Chuck.

^ Ahh, I see, thanks for clarifying. So what %age of shows would you say are owned by the broadcast vs. those that aren't? For example, I assume FOX owns "American Idol". I thought other shows on FOX like "Simpsons", "24", etc. are also owned by FOX, but after finding out NBC doesn't own "Chuck" but just paid for the right to air it, I don't know anymore and I guess there's no obvious way of knowing while watching the show compared to looking it up on the Web for more info.

Yes, getting Leno out of the 10 pm slot opened up more space for traditional programming. If and when "Chuck" does end, I hope they do it with a conclusion in mind, like what's being done by ABC with "Lost".

Monday's episode started out well but the ending sucked. Mad

I enjoyed the show when it was comedy, light-natured, and featured hot chicks and action. The latter is still true, but the former sure isn't. Sadwalk

All the emotional shit is killing off an otherwise good show.

I don't know the percentages but you can look up any show you want to know about. Chuck is a Warner Brothers show, for example. Throughout the Latin world, it's aired on the "Warner Channel", and WB gets money from that distribution. Had NBC-Universal produced it, they'd be getting the monies from international distribution and syndication.

I actually thought it was one of the better episodes this season, other than the one on a plane.
