Getting back on topic, here's the description for tonight's episode of "Chuck", according to TVGuide.com.
From what I've heard, the character of Jack was only supposed to be in the first episode, but he wouldn't be killed off. He would just be one of the random survivors that never became a main character. I could be wrong. Either way though, the point remains that it's a different situation. They expanded the role because of the level of actor that they cast for the part, long before it ever aired. It was not expanded due to audience feedback.

In any case, the reason you can't imagine Jorge in the role of Sawyer is because they pretty much made Sawyer into a heartthrob type character because of who they did eventually cast. Jorge Garcia could be a manipulating swindler. He just wouldn't be popular with the ladies. Characters eventually take shape around the actors that portray them, it doesn't mean that the outline couldn't have been applied to others.

*edit: I just googled it and you're right, Abrams intended to initially ill off Jack halfway through the pilot. But as I mentioned, the point remains that it's different from rewriting him in because of audience reaction.

^ I understand the diff. bet. writing the character off based on audience's reaction vs. what producers originally envisioned before actually seeing the actors act out the scenes.

What did everyone think of last night's episode? I thought it was better than the one from 2 weeks ago but not as good as last week's. It was interesting to find out Casey is not really Casey (like with Sarah Walker not really being that name). It looks like Mr. & Mrs. Awesome will stay but Baldwin (Casey) will be written off. Too bad - I enjoyed his role. And the general hinted that Sarah won't be needed much longer either since Chuck is pretty much a super-spy, now that he knows how to check his emotions when he needs to flash.

Does anyone know the status of "Chuck" for Season 4? Is NBC going to play games again?

I am sure in a week or so something will happen and the only one with the right knowledge to help is Casey. Sarah and Chuck go behind the General's back for his help. Day is saved, general find out. She seems cranky, but reluctantly lets him back in. This is of course after half a episode or so of Civilian Casey shtick.

Josh Schwartz tweeted this morning "Chuck fans it's time to get organized...". So Josh seems worried. Others seem to think last nights ratings dip was just a fluke. Guess we will find out next week. But the fact is the show lost what a million viewers last night and fell in the demo to a 1.9.

Thanks, was able to catch up on it there. It was a good episode. I loved it when Chuck blurted Casey out and everyone was eyeballing each other laugh out loud

Adam Baldwin needs to stay! Though it was kinda weird how all of a sudden he started showing so much emotion, it just didn't seem to fit in with his character. Hopefully it's not a sign that he's going to be leaving the series. What do you guys think?

I didn't know there was going to be new episodes as HIMYM and Big Bang didn't have new episodes last night. We better get a full run next season!

my buddy just emailed me this morning, he said spoiltertv.com said it was likely to be renewed. not that I've actually checked that website laugh out loud

Yeah, if anything, I'd like to see the General get written off (not necessarily die like her colleague did in Ep. 1) and let Shaw call the shots. Cool

How is castle this season? I watched the first season maybe half way, did it get any better?
