This monitor is designed for professional use. For one, it comes with factory color calibration that provides more accurate color out of the box than a consumer/gaming model like the one you mentioned. In a company where a dozen or more people need to sign off on graphics, having accurate displays to make sure everyone sees the same thing saves time and money, making it worth the price.
The height of the U2412 can definitely be adjusted.
But wondering if the U2415 is worth paying 2x as much as the current U2412 Staples deal for (~$105) for general computer use.
Depends on your needs / wants... This one has HDMI, USB 3.0, tiny bezel, faster response, more color settings, ... Also, lower energy usage (23 W vs. 72 W) which can add up over the years. Assume 8 hours per day five days per week and 50 work weeks at $0.13/kWh - it is around $13 per year in additional energy used for U2412. So, you'll break even in 7-8 years between the two, but will have a better monitor

Where do you get the energy use of the U2412 is 72W? I don't think any modern 24" LED monitor will use that much energy.

No, 6 ms response time for U2415 vs. 8 ms for U2412, also 76 Hz refresh vs. 60. We have one U2412 and four U2415 at work, worth the price difference to me.
Do you work for a gaming or graphics company? 😎

No one who works 50 hrs a week every week for 8 to 10 years can break even in any good possible sensible way 😂
