It's back. This deal was posted earlier this month at a similar price. Near half the price of most retailers with the $10 clippable coupon.

Update: Now $74.97 after coupon

Been running this router as my primary the past few years. Mostly it has been rock solid with only a few reboots here and there needed. I have a few pc's and a plethora of wifi devices running through it. However, I am in the market for a new one as the parental controls on it have pretty much gone to Circle by Disney. This is a nice service and I used it (free version) in conjunction with IFTTT to pause the internet at bedtime for my teen. Didn't cost me anything additional out of pocket. However, IFTTT no longer supports Circle as of recently.

Now to get the same service through Circle, I would have to subscribe to their monthly plan. I hate having that as my only option (pretty much, without 'hacking'). I feel Netgear dropped the ball on parental controls and pretty much walked away from them. With a teen and 8 year old, I want to have better controls, options and flexibility. Looking through TP-Link and Asus (for example) they have WAY more options (free & built in) than this router now has now since it relies on Circle for parental controls.

If your looking for good parental controls (without a subscription cost) I would look at other routers. Just my 2 cents worth.

Just picked this up last week for a dollar more. Pretty good router.

Our Asus router failed and the new in box TP-Link bought as a backup was absolute crap (don't buy). Amazon got the Netgear to us with Prime the next day. Really helpful as our home has need for not only internet all over, but our Tivo minis run off ethernet too so no other rooms had TV.

That gives me hope. I've managed to get most of my house hard-wired-ish. However, I've been suffering with lag spikes and massive bufferbloat issues. I picked up the TP-Link Archer A7 a few weeks back and it didn't improve. I'm hoping that this will considering it has twice the ram and processing power. It's odd how much hardware we can cram into tiny phones but routers are still being made with single core CPUs under a GHz?

I am using this particular model since January 2018 with comcast around 300mb down. Easy to setup and we shut it off most nights and it comes on in the morning. Fast boot. We have 7 to 8 connection's on the wifi and 2 hardwire and is stable. I will buy it again if I need it. Price paid for it $89.99
This is a good deal

I'm guessing by hacking that you were referring to custom firmware. But, in case you weren't it does look like this is compatible with Dd-wrt, tomato, and openwrt. I'll admit that my first couple times flashing these were quite a pita for me but to be able to expand your parental controls without paying anything more... I'd say it's worth the time. Don't junk a nice car if it just needs a paint job 😉

No, not replace. With att they MAKE you use theirs. The Pace ones also do not allow passthrough. Well, they kind of do but I think att mostly disables it with their crap firmware. You can run it as a bridge though. You can also disable the wifi on the att router and run off of this instead. A bit of a pain at first. When I had att I kept their router in the less important spot in the house and switched my own router to bridge mode. So, the computers upstairs used for gaming got the wifi from the better router. If you keep the ssids, auth types, and passwords the same it acts as a mesh system. Basically, keep everything the same but the channels and you will be expanding your coverage

Correct on the DD-wrt, tomato, etc. 'hacking'. My problem is finding the time to learn about the custom firmware and getting it rock solid. With both of my kids now using Chromebooks for school work, the last thing I need it a call at work saying "I can seem to get on the internet" when they are doing homework. I am not pitching it though, think I will move it to the other side of the house and use it as an access point instead just to boost to some hard to reach areas.

$40-$50 where? I see it for $100 refurbished. Looks like it's $150+ at most places.

Yeah... I am considered quite tech savvy but networking stuff is a whole new playbook to learn. Definitely takes a lot of time.
