Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

But because I've read it here that the trade in IMEI is important to be entered in the process at Costco the REP I talked to said they don't take that info.. I won't accept that and go to another Store if they don't include the IMEI of the phone I'm bringing in for the Trade
Like I said before. Costco initiates the rebate process. That means that you need the Imei. Once they start the trade in process, they print out a sheet that has three parts. A copy that you keep, a piece that you put in the box with your trade in device and a shipping label.

I am also looking for simple choice plan, please let me know if you get any updates
Looks like us users on simple choice can't get in on this deal. Have to find someone willing to add a line for you or open up a whole new account under someone else's name

Thanks for all the posts with useful information. Just came back from my local Costco and want to share the experience:

Background: iPhone 6s at H2O wireless, not T-mobile customer previously, only have one line to port in (expensive...)

What bought:

iPhone 11, 64GB, White: $629.99

Plan signed up:

Magenta $70/month
//reason for not choosing Essentials is about it is only $10 cheaper and don't have Netflex and Essentials $60 doesn't include tax and fees while Magenta $70 DOES.

Activation fee:
Per Costco booklet, there is no activation fee, but it is Tmobile policy or Costco will reimbursement. Anyway, I guess you don't need to worry about it.

Monthly charge:
I signed up Autopay. I remember $70/month price requires that.

Port in:
For my case (H2O), I called H2O customer service: 800-643-4926 and verified my recent 3 call/answer numbers. They then messaged me my H2O account number and told me the PIN over the phone. It turns out that's all you need for port in. BTW, even though I left the store for a few hours, my old phone still work at H2O so the port-in may need a whole night to complete.

Trade in:
They print a shipping label (no box or envelope supply) and you are supposed to ship your old phone within 30 days. You can NOT do the trade in at local T-Mobile stores.
For my case, they entered the IMEI number and estimate it cost miserably $36. The associate told me that that $36 will come in as statement credit while the rest ($580-$36) will be sent via gift card rebate.

BTW, judging from the fact that it is a flat $580 regardless of what phone you trade in, isn't it stupid to trade any phone other than the lowest tier, namely 6s? Any phone better than that, you won't get extra value. Maybe this deal is exactly to allure the shabby SDers...

Get the promotion
I was told by the associate that I need to wait 90 days before I can cancel the line and switch carrier (I assume by then I will also get both credit and GC). Anything earlier than that will either forfeit my promotion or, if I get the GC/credit, they will bill it back. Also, that's the timeline that Costco will be paid by carrier for the transaction. For safe, I may be willing to hold 3 months before I change anything. If so, here is all the money goes:
1. Monthly charge: ($70-$30)*3=$120 , $70 is T-mobile price, $30 is H2O price
2. Phone cost: $630-$580=$50 (I bought at NH, so no sales tax)
3. Trade in: iPhone 6s.
So essentially, you spend $170 and trade in a iPhone 6s. After 3 months, you get an iPhone 11.

If you add one more line ($50/month for Magenta), the cost will look like:
($70+$50-2*$30)*3+(630-580)*2=$280
Or say, if you trade another iPhone 6s, the 2nd iPhone 11 will cost you net $110 (=$280-$170). Surely the more you trade, the better average you get. I think the line limit is 4/account.

Good luck. Let me know if there is anything I calculate or think wrong.

Do you have to port in a number or can you just open new line with new number?

You should be able to either port a number or ask for a new number, as long as the ported number isn't currently a T-Mobile number, i.e. you can't switch a number from another T-Mobile account and have it be a "new line" in the sense of this promotion

Believe it or not...I was initially told that I could add 12 lines in my T-Mo One family and last night after spending 1 hr in Costco, they couldn't add even then 9th line and I too came empty handed!
They (Cust Care) are saying they can't enable since T-Mo One is now considered "Grandfathered" plan and I have to upgrade to Magenta but then I'll lose all my buy1-get1 line promo and other promos...damn T-Mo !!!
When I opened my 9th line last time, the same thing happened. The guy at Costco had to call somebody else to make some changes to my plan. But, eventually, I was able to add the 9th line.
Now this time, Costco guy called CS and later told me I could open another account with Tmo, but $75/mo for the plan.
I said no of course... I can just cancel 2 lines and come back 3 months later, but I will miss all the BF deals...
