2. How to Redeem Your Offer

2. Trade-in an eligible device.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.
It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.
Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!
Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!
Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!
And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

It's just that you can't add more than 8 lines in a T-Mo One plan unless they bump you up to T-Mo One+ plan (also called 9-12 lines family).
I have 8 lines already and now if I try to add a line it will cost me $30/month (as confirmed by multiple cust care folks)!
I need a suggestion on next steps . I will this 6s and i use a iphone7 128GB with Sprint. I want to trade in the new Iphone 6s and planning to swtich to tracfone from Sprint . Then take it to Costco for Trade in . I will be keeping iphone 7 for my Dad (it's unlocked anyways) . Do you think this is good ? Any suggestions?

This is a long shot, but I am throwing this out there if it comes to this point -- Will this promotion work if I somehow manage to add a line at a T-Mobile retail store (or even if I manually add the line on my account through my.t-mobile.com), then go back to Costco to purchase the phone and initiate the Trade in and Rebate process?

I explained the exact situation happened to me.
The issue is, the normal T-Mo One plan allows only 8 lines!
To add 9 and more lines, you need to bump it to "T-Mo One Plus" or something which says "minimum 9 lines and max 12 lines and each line from 9 onwards will cost $30/month and not $20/month as usual" in other words if you cancel the 9th line in future, the monthly bill won't go down by $30, you need to call them to switch back to normal plan (1-8 lines) and only then the $30 of the 9th line will go down !!!
This was confirmed by a Cust-Care manager in details !!!
