Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.

Just did the deal tonight for a 64GB and traded in a 6S. Associate put me on the Magenta Unlimited 55 plan even though I'm still over a decade away from qualifying for that :-0

Going to transfer t-mobile SIM from wife's 7 to the phone and disconnect the line once I get the rebate. I got the shpeel about the 6 months but was not asked to sign any contracts so that's not going to hold up.
What did you say...

He said it's all done online now through t-mobile and only gave me the sheet with the instructions for the rebate. I guess I'm going to have to go back to Costco.
So he didn't inspect?
When you do it online, it asks for your tmobile number, pin and the code for the offer.
Here, you submit a copy of your receipt and of the back of the box (imei/sn)

But the actual trade in, the Costco rep has to initiate it. He puts the details of the phone such as network, gb size, color, model. Rep also answers like 4 questions. Is the screen cracked, does it power on, etc...

I feel this deal like a trap. Stayed away...black friday deals are coming!!!
Why do you feel this is a trap.

Very similar to deals they have run multiple times in the past. Only variance is the $580 vs $700

Trying to decide if this deal is hot or not. Current situation Family plan. Adding a line. broken iphone se
iphone 11 after rebate 120
iphone 6s from amazon 136
costco membership 60
price of line for 90 days 60
total price of iphone 11 376 plus all taxes from everything and hassle of changing phone number.
Im not sure if this is a great deal for me. on the other hand a renewed XR is 547 on amazon.
I wonder if there will be a sale on the 11 where you can just buy the phone new for $500 or less?

Edit: I can also do the deal with tmobile and stretch it over 24 months. this would save me the 60 cost of the membership bringing the price down to 316
Seems like this will cost you more than it should.
the 2 year is fine if you are willing to stay with tmobile for those 2 years.

You mentioned in your calculation that the price of line would be $60 for 90 days, so that's $20 for the additional line per month? If you do it with tmobile for 2 years, you are paying 24 x $20 months for a total of $480. So what is more expensive for you? the $480 or that $60 Costco membership fee? (assuming you are not going to use this line)

No, he didn't even look at the phone. He just said the trade-in is all done through T-mobile. I already did my online submission but didn't see anything about sending in the trade-in. Hopefully I don't have any issues with my rebate.

Thanks for your help.

I didn't receive any instructions on sending in my trade in device. Was I supposed to get that from Costco? I was able to submit the form on the t-mobile.com/promotions website.
If you did not get any instructions, how did you figure out how to submit a form online?

Agreed...other than the fact that they are giving only $580 and not $700, I don't see how this is a trap...lol

Did the rep inspect your trade in device?
did they give you a sheet of paper with 3 parts to it?
Do I have to write my own address on the Merchandise Return Label?
