Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.
The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.
It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.
Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!
Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!
Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!
And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.
How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500
iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580

So If i bring the unit back to costco...
1 - cancel the deal and get a new unit iphone 11-128G with the same trade in
or
2 - keep the deal
or
3- order a new deal with another 6s as trade in and get another phone . Then cancel the original unit and play it safe .
I do not want to miss out the rebate ...
I call the TMO and they said they don't care either way, but I have no-proof.
Help, and TIA

Already have 1x iPhone 6s, wanted to have a total of 4, so I went to target to try to buy 3x total wireless iPhone 6s for $149 (price matching to Walmart, wanting to get 5% back from discover card) but they wouldn't sell to me without a cell phone plan.
Walmart sold me three total wireless iPhone 6s without plan (but locked) for $149.99 plus tax each. There was a limit of two per customer, so I had my brother buy one.
At Costco, we were able to purchase 4x iPhone 11 128gb for 679.99 ea plus tax. We were quoted $31 trade in value per iPhone 6s, and the remaining of the $580 each ($549) to be gift card send to my phone number after 8 weeks. The IMEIs of the Walmart purchased phones passed their validation process. I didn't open them until after it did.
Signed up for magenta plan, they quoted me $180-$20 autopay for $160/mo for four lines. They told me I should keep the account open for 180 days to ensure the rebate comes through. Also I can call after 2 billing cycles to get the iPhone 11 unlocked (this is in writing).
On my account it seems the free line promo from the main website is applying so it's showing $155/mo. Fingers crossed that's the case!!
I have SimpleChoice so I am not eligible for this promo. I'd have to sign up for a separate 1-line Magenta plan for $70/mo for 2-3 mo. Fine.
The trick is, I'd want to still be able to use my current phone number but on the separate new Magenta line. Now, from a promo a couple years ago, I have this Digits SIM card that basically clones my number to any other phone. The downside is that the data speed on this Digits SIM is dirt slow, but the advantage is that my phone calls and texts all show as my primary line.
Anyway, can I get this new Magenta line, ask them to convert the new number to an eSIM, and then pop in this Digits SIM? Then set the phone number as the Digits for primary and the Magenta eSIM for data?
Like I said, an odd workaround, but would it work for a few months until I get the rebate so I can then use the new iPhone with my "true" current SIM?
So I went in yesterday for this deal. The rep tells me I don't need to add a line as my line is upgrade eligible. BUT he said, if I add a line I'd qualify for some extra $125 promo that they don't normally allow but he'd try double dipping. I replied I don't want extra line if i don't have to. I get all the paperwork from the OP's thread.
At first I start to panic as it says Accepted offer value $131 for my IPhone 8 64GB I plan to send it to them. Then I realized they did same thing for an IPhone during Samsung S10e where I received $40 but received it on the bill and rest of the amount on a gift card. I filled out the rebate and its says pending which is probably because they haven't received my phone yet, which I still haven't mailed.
I called T-Mobile promotions dept and the lady said the COSTCO promo says add a line and she doesn't see extra line added. She also said my offer might get rejected but told me to wait and call again until my offer shows and rebate tracking number shows up on their end which it didn't because rep said I just filed yesterday.
I am so confused on whether I should proceed further or just return the phone and play it safe. Don't want to get screwed by only getting $131 for my IPhone 8.
I called Costco and luckily it was the same guy singing a different tune that it depends on what model, memory size and condition the phone is and its not a guarantee of $580 but rebate form clearly says "All variants and sizes" accepted. Sorry for a lengthy post. Hoping someone could chime in
