Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

yes, they will tell you how much the trade in value for your device is. Say you have an iPhone 7 and they give you $80 for it. You will get $80 Tmobile bill credit and $500 prepaid card (virtual I think)
Follow up question: do you know about when we get the bill credit? It says the prepaid card is about 6-8 weeks but how about the credit? Thanks!!

I just called a Boost mobile store they said even though its 24.99 , it will come out to be 145$ with plan, activation and taxes.
I bought the the phone in Massachusetts. The total with taxes came out to 112$. Activation fee is 25$ and plan for first month is 50$. So total is 100 + taxes ~= 112$

the (not so) short story of the process is this...
you go to the wireless desk, ask for the deal
they start your process with verifying/creating your T-Mo account
they give you a print out purchase request for the purchase of the phone(s).
The phones are locked up in the inventory room, only to be given out after purchased and paid.
you go to the Costco checkout lane and pay for the full price of the phone(s)
---obviously, you need a Costco membership to complete this task..(friends, yours, or whatever)
---if it is a friend's membership, then it is a YMMV by the wireless reps desire to be friendly or not.
---and remember, the Costco membership card has your picture on the back. (unless your friend is really cool and let you use his Costco app already logged in)

go back to the wireless desk and wait for the Costco rep to bring your purchased phone(s) to you there.
activate your phone(s) on the account and make a test call to verify working number.
finish your trade-in paperwork.

EDIT: more added...
don't leave Costco without your trade-in paperwork and shipping label.
--be sure the trade-in's IMEI is absolutely correct. the model and size matters also, but can be corrected later.
go home... wait 12-24 hours for your T-Mo account to update.
log onto your T-Mo account. follow the instructions on the paperwork they gave you.
Fill out the online submit form.
package your trade-in phone (no chargers/cases/cables needed) and put the shipping label on. get a mail tracking/receipt at the mail drop off.
you should usually receive your trade-in credit within 48 hours of delivery.
---if you don't, call T-Mo and ask if they are waiting for you to respond with an offer change/acceptance.
---they have a tracking tool and can tell you exactly what is going on if the delivery was completed.
patiently wait for your rebate card to arrive.
I'm glad you posted this. I realized from my paperwork that I didn't have a shipping label for the phone I bought Saturday. I ended up doing the deal again today and the two had already caught the error (as well as another potential error). He wasn't able to print out a new shipping label for Saturday's phone, but from a phone call to t-mobile, I got the rma for it. T-mobile said paperwork with the shipping label would be email, but all I got was the deal paperwork.

T-Mobile specifically addresses this, when you go online to start the gift card process.

They say that you should wait and use the permanent, ported number, rather than the temporary number.

+++

Of course, that assumes you are going to port right away.

I have a phone for my mom, I won't actually port it until sometime after Thanksgiving, in early December. So I will submit with the temporary number, then make sure I don't port until after the gift card is sent. Just in case ....

My wife has to decide later this week if she will keep the phone and port, so I'll wait on her decision. She has a 6s, and hates tech, doesn't want a new phone. SmilieEEK!

Good luck!
She doesn't want new phone until after she gets it.

Thank you!! I was stressed I missed out because I didn't read this until last Wednesday and everything locally was sold out. I was out of town when they extended the deal this weekend so Monday morning I started calling around. One of my local stores had TWO iPhone XRs in stock.

I called a couple more times just to make sure they had it in stock as it took me about 3 more hours to make it over there with two iPhone 6S phones to trade in. The sales reps were very kind and patient. Took a while to get things set up and activated but I came home with two rebate forms and two brand new phones.

And since we were shopping for iPhone 8s, it worked out better for us to get the iPhone XR instead of the iPhone 11 as it was much cheaper - just $550 vs $649.

I added one SquareTrade warranty for $120. My kind sales rep told me not to register it unless something happened and then I would be able to use it on whichever one of the two phones got damaged (he didn't tell me this until well after I made the final decision to only buy the warranty on the phone for my son).

Since I activated the Magenta plan on two lines, I am paying $120/month until I can cancel. I just remembered he was supposed to give me a 3rd SIM card since it was free but we all ended up forgetting during the process. Annoying since I could have used an extra SIM but not the end of the world - not sure they can do anything about it if I go back. Still, I may contact the rep tomorrow.

All in all, we are excited and I just dropped a bunch of money on phone cases and screen protectors from Amazon lol.

It's about 630-580 for the iphone 11
VS
550-550 for the XR

$50 difference for latest version.

Thank you @thund3rcat! We asked at the store and no one could figure out if I would get $580 or less. Helpful to know I will get a $550 rebate card.

While $580 back would have been nicer, we are happy to get $550 back and save the $50. All in all, saving $50 for each phone is worth it to us and my kids are absolutely thrilled with the XR.

Damn... this is real bad luck bro...!!!
Some reps are just bad, yours is one of those...!!!
Don't forget to give the real feedback to the survey you receive form them!!!
FYI, even for me it wasn't 100% smooth!
The Costco lady selected "iPhone 6s Plus" as my trade-in phone and so the RMA receipt said the trade-in fair price is $50 (instead of $31).
When I realized it after coming home, I was mad I had to go again, but I did go back just to get this fixed and generate the correct RMA receipt (with the new shipping label).
your corrected RMA receipt said $580?

You should be able to go any Costco Kiosk and add the line via the Bring your Own, and get $125 gift card.

I have 2 iPhone 6s I was hoping to trade.
- 1 is bent by the volume buttons
- 1 has backlight bleeding issues. No dead pixels or screen issues, but you can tell something weird is going on with the backlight of the display panel. Display works great though

Would these get accepted as trade in?
While a buyer would care about these, the issues are not listed on the Assurant check list.

I will be honest - I was mostly an android user for all of the usual reasons before switching over to iPhone more recently. Android screens typically have much higher screen resolution than iPhones and it's very noticeable when you compare the two side by side, or even when you first start using iPhone and you're looking relatively closely as a skeptic. I wish it weren't the case. However, within a day or two you forget all about the screen resolution unless you do look very closely (when do you ever need to though?). The panels on the recent iPhones are very color-accurate and vibrant, they are a pleasure to see and use unlike some better-resolution Android phones. That said, the iPhone 11 has an LCD screen as opposed to its "Pro" counterparts, which again is not ideal, but also hardly noticeable unless you're already used to OLED screens and again even then you will not really notice it while using it.

tl;dr the iPhone 11 screen is actually very nice and vibrant during actual use, despite its poor paper-specs

You're right that technically they're not on the checklist, however there's a decent chance Assurant might see those issues depending on how noticeable or obvious they are (remember they're probably seeing dozens if not hundreds of these devices a day for inspection to notice minute differences). If the backlight bleeding is badly noticeable even at first glance I would consider just replacing the LCD (I did it myself, took about 25mins and costed about $15).

I would try to send them in and cross your fingers, and at the worst you will be out a couple months cell phone bills but can return the devices to Costco if your rebate gets denied.
